Over, Kirby will average about the same on offense, same/worse on D (I'm not sure he can after last season). His efficiency should drop, depends on how well the rest of the team plays. He'll have some nice games against bad defenses and ESPN will hype it up but overall I'm not seeing anything special. Lakers have 0 pressure and no on expects them to do so Kirby will be able to chase the scoring le this season.

That doesn't mean he'll do great, you can average 30 ppg but if your team is still in terms of playoff picture it doesn't really matter.

Better question would be an over/under on his shooting%, at 44%

Over, I think he'll still average 24ppg with his shooting % taking a big hit of course imo. 40-42% shooting.

Come on guys, other than his rookie season where kobestans pretend never happened, Kobe has NEVER scored less than 15ppg for an entire season. Scoring has never been his issue, he will jack up 40 shots a game if he could. His shot selection is the problem. His leadership is the problem. His team play is the problem.

So instead, we should ask if he could shoot 44% for the season (addressed)
We should ask if he can "lead" the lakers to the playoffs.
We should ask what is the over/under before he starts to blame his teammates/coaching staff.
We should ask what is the over/under before he quits and demand a trade.

one thing I learned from kobe is never doubt the guy. he has proven evryone wrong so many times.

-in 04-05, when everyone thought kobe only scored a ton because of shaq's presence in the paint, kobe answered by putting the most points in a single seaon since mj in 86

-after losing in 2008 against boston, everybody said he can't win another championship. 2 yrs later, kobe won b2b

-halfway through the 12-13 season, with the lakers playoff hopes out of the equation. mamba pulled the lakers out of that rut leading them to a 28-12 record while avg 24.3 ppg 9.6 apg en route to a playoff seed. Thats in gangsta tbh.

-2013, with a ruptured achilles, everybody thinks kobe is donr. well guess what mother ers, kobe will have another amazing season.

25.6 ppg 47% at age 35. Hate on that

There's no reason to "pass" the rock this season. They are not winning anything obviously and the Lakers are not developing a young talent. It's anything goes and most players IMO will have career highs this season under D'Antoni's system with a full training camp under their belt.

The need to be healthy and entertain fans, that's their ceiling.

    Ball hogging at its finest.

You mean pau won b2b. Also who said they will not win another championship? They were heavy favourites in 08, the lakers underachieved because Kobe shot them out of a le, again.

-halfway through the 12-13 season, with the lakers playoff hopes out of the equation. mamba pulled the lakers out of that rut leading them to a 28-12 record while avg 24.3 ppg 9.6 apg en route to a playoff seed. Thats in gangsta tbh.
Pau coming back had a lot to do with it, tbh. You, lakers without pau= 10th seed. With Pau, they moved up to 7th with some historical FTA.

-2013, with a ruptured achilles, everybody thinks kobe is donr. well guess what mother ers, kobe will have another amazing season.

The Lakers need to make use of their pick and be as bad as possible while not looking like they are tanking. Kobe Bryant might average 28 on 30 attempts.

He'll average more and shoot more. There's no way he ever accepts a lesser role. No, he'll take more shots and, true to form, will find a reason to recuse himself from the inevitable ty season results while still collecting as many career points as possible.

He doesn't have the will to win. He has the will to look like a winner. The Lakers front office will aid in that, since they too need Kobe to look like a winner.

Jordan acting like he posted something meaningful when you couldn't do without Pippen.

    Jordan without Pippen (5 seasons):

    .430 win %
    0 les
    0 MVPs
    0 Finals MVP
    0 Finals appearances
    0 Playoff series wins
    1-9 playoff record
    0 NBA All Defense Team
0 NBA Defensive Player of the year

MJ from 84-87 averaged 31.7 ppg on 49,3% shooting, 85% FT, hadn't developed his 3pt shot yet, 5.6 reb 5 ast 2.6 stl 1.2 blk

    57,1%TS
    49,6% EFG
27.8 PER (led the league with a 29.8 PER 1987, before Pippen was drafted)
    8,6% TRB
    23,6% AST
led the league in WS in 1987 with 16.9(Kirby never had that high of a WS in a regular season, even in his prime )

    Rookie Of The Year (1985)
    All-Rookie 1st team (1985)
    Scoring champ(1987)
Most points in a single playoff game - 63 vs Boston Celtics 1986
1x Slam Dunk Contest champion 1987
    3x all-star
    1x All-NBA 1st team
    1x All-NBA 2nd team

Individually, MJ was doing just fine.

Implying that any all-time great has won championships without help.

Lebron needed Wade,Bosh + solid role players to win his 2 les
Hakeem needed Drexler,Horry and others to win his 2 les(+ MJ being out of the league that time)
Duncan needed Robinson,Pop,Manu,Bowen,Horry and TP to win his
Kirby needed Shaq,Pjax,Fisher,Horry,Shaw,Pau,Odom,Artest to win his

Prime Kirby was averaging 35 ppg on decent efficiency and his team barely even made the playoffs(2x first round exit, missed playoffs without Pau), what's your point?

MJ needed help, you're not beating Pistons,Lakers,Sonics and Jazz without all-star help, MJ faced some stacked teams and he won by coming up big in late game situations.

Without Pippen to defend Magic the Bulls might have lost. Without Paxson to hit that 3 the Suns could have won in 7.

Without Artest we're standing here down 4-4, Kobe under Duncan.
