are you all from the valley? do you all go to a certain bar to watch games?
Don't know about the others, but part of my family is in the Valley (Weslaco) and the other here in S.A. I've lived all over the world in my some odd 60 years on this planet, but South Texas from Austin to the Valley I call home. And I rarely go to bars anymore unless they pay me to play music there.
I live in San Antonio now, the food is better, although it is still great in the Valley too, and I love South Padre. Blackbeards all you can eat flounder can't be beat anywhere!

Mexican food in SA doesn't even come close to comparing to Mexican food in the Valley. That is unquestionable.

There used to be a nice restaurant across the river in Progresso I often went to, but I heard it closed down. You could get five course meals. Anyone remember the name of it? I didn't say it was great, rather it was nice. Was it Rodrigos, or Roberto's, or something like that? Just don't remember.
    Wait, Arturo's?

Has our Australian guest decided to blow off the Spurs and spend his time in the USA in The Rio Grande Valley instead? Who knew?

He could get the best of both worlds. The Spurs and then good ole RGV and all it has to offer.

I was just responding to the natural direction of the thread, homie. The Valley sucks at a lot of things, but Mexican food isn't one of them. lol

I wouldn't put too much into the loss. La Grulla is pretty good plus it's a 3A school. You all play Santa Rosa next iirc.

    Maybe so!
But having lived in both areas and around the world I can easily attest that the Mexican food is pretty much the same in both areas, there is just more of it and many more great places to eat it in the S. A. area than in the Valley, no offense intended, just facts. Austin however has very few good places to eat it, and San Marcos has a great place right off IH35 called Henry's that rivals anything in either area.

SPI is also better than anything SA has to offer sans the Spurs. Like Skull-1 said, San Antonio is the valley but it has a basketball team. If you put the main cities of the RGV within a city geographically, it'd be another San Antonio, cept we got a nice little beach

San Marcos? You're kidding me right? That place sucks compared to anything in the Valley. You are a delusional fool with no tastebuds. I bet you think Taco Bell is Mexican food, right?

Don't be ridiculous and please quit showing your ignorance, you obviously have a lot to learn and many places to discover before you go spouting your mouth off. Taco Bell? That sounds like one of your places, you brought it up, not I.
And yes, in little old San Marcos there is a fantastic place, how improbable!
Geez, what a confined backward idiot you truly are!
Feel that rope getting tighter yet?

I have eaten at every place in that town. The best pseudo Mexican there....well...they're all bad. I think Los Cucos is the only one I ate all of my plate. You are such a moron.
