Will Pau be thrown under the bus this season and made the scapegoat for all the Lakers' failure while Kobe has recurring heel issues at opportune times, or will Pau step up and actually put the Lakers in the mix for the Playoffs, at which point Kobe's jaw begins to jut out like he's the one who did it?

pau has never been the type of a player that can carry a team. nver did and that will not change now at a tender age of 33 with plantar faciitis etc

So you're already planning on throwing him under the bus.

Pau's beta mentality has gotten in his legacy's way. If you watched the Lakers from 08-12, you could tell Pau was the guy who was the big difference maker putting them above other teams. The Lakers already had a solid squad with Kobe, Lamar, Bynum (I think they were already a 5 seed or something along those lines BEFORE the Pau trade), but once Pau came in on top of that core, he was the difference maker teams had to, but couldn't deal with. A mammoth performance against Boston in '10 (when he made up for his pussified '08 performance) was the culmination of Pau's greatness on the Lakers. Then they tried phasing him out in favor of Bynum and they got swept. Bynum had his biggest role in '12 and they lost to OKC. Then they traded Bynum and tried to make it Dwight's team, to the point where Pau was benched, and the Lakers proceeded to disappoint and get swept. The Lakers biggest problem is that their alpha talent has a beta personality and their beta talent has an alpha personality

Pau wilted because of Bynum, and again because of Howard. Pau is best when he's the big on the floor. He's got the ability and IQ to make plays around the rim that neither of those guys had, but he just lacks the raw slave like aggression of either of those bucks.

Pau didn't just lose his abilities. He was forced to play a system that didn't make use of his abilities, one of which is the pick and roll where he catches high and finishes without anyone besides another big having any shot at blocking or stripping him. It happens so fast though that it's almost unstoppable especially if you have perimeter threats that don't drift around like re s.

Well, the Lakers have gone as far as Pau has taken them. I don't expect this season to be much different, tbh...

He was having knee problems last season. We'll see if he's been able to deal with that in the offseason and come back fresh.

Pau is no leader. Pau's leadership landed him a sweet 0-16 in the playoffs. Now what he needs do is clean the sand in his vagina and with Bynum and Howard out of the picture, start fighting for position in the post.

going off for 19-18 instead of shooting 6-24 is leadership imo

making t he playoffs is no big deal tbh, winning at least one playoff game without kobe is another. Dude couldn't even win 1 game with Dwight howard and nash

and Bynumite thanks for pointing it out. gasol is now 0-16 in playoff games without kobe. leadership my ass

You act like MVPau didn't miss any games last year. MVPau healthy = 7th seed. MVPau sitting = 10th seed.
    Deal with it.

Btw, Lamar missingges in 05 had more to do with lakers missing the playoffs. MJ already showed tht in the thread you and your kind have avoided like Kobe avoids consensus.

I think that season had more to do with Pjax leaving than anything. Kirby was at his best in the tri(counting both ends) though under D'Antoni his offense gets a lot better because the coach doesn't care about D.
