Well then let me restate it again so it comes back where it belongs. Tim should not have divorced Amy. He cannot marry anyone else while she is alive, so he should not be encouraged to do so. Amy should not have been a cheating adulterous homewrecker. She needs to repent and reconcile with her husband, Tim. Anyone who supports any other position is flat out wrong from a Christian standpoint. Those around them need to encourage reconciliation and a return to their marriage, which is in effect until one of them dies. Period.

The Pharises angered Christ because they were hypocrites and liars. The law they followed was not the Law of Christ by any measure. They would sit idle on the Sabbath and not help a man get his ox cart out of the ditch.

Yeah life sucks at times man, and women can change on the drop of a dime these days it seems. I am not divorced though so I don't take it personal and I have never had this happen with a long time wife like some have in here etc. I have had girls do shady things after a while, but nothing to the extent his wife or Tims wife did. I guess people just lose interest over time and want something new that they thought they had from the start, life in a nuts .
Never had it happen to me either, thank God, but if it did, I certainly would not appreciate some bible thumping Jesus freak meddling in my business, in fact I would find it highly offensive because that would be way too personal and definitely none of their business especially for a Christian. The pproblem is that society and, particularly, the church don't understand or teach what marriage is. Non-Christians and atheists actually have lower divorce rates than Christians do. So being a Christian means you have a lower regard for the sanc y of the union instead of a higher one.
It is not a contract that you can get out of because "people change". That is Erasmus, the prince of humanists take, but he was a bad egg. No, sir, marriage is way more. It is an oath. A vow. The conditions are contained within it that say for better, worse, sick, healthy, until death. People say those words and don't really believe or mean them. And the church in this icky, Erasmian, Reformist, unscriptural goo disguised as mercy just blows it off. Nobody has the guts to tell people they're wrong any more.
Pastors won't do it. If they enforced marriage vows they would lose half their congregations and the associated donations of unscriptural hes. Joel Osteen and John Hagee would have to give up their mansions and jet airplanes, etc. total hypocrisy and lies. us and Timothy warned against it. Here we are.

The main reason that non Christians and athiests have a lower divorce rate than Christians is because Christians actually have a tendency to get married while athiests and non Christians have more of a tencency to live together.

I hope there is a special place in for those that use the Bible as a weapon to spread fear and guilt. There comes a time when people become so insufferable and self-righteous that those who may have onced loved them can no longer tolerate them. Sometimes it takes a lot more bravery to leave than to stay. You see it everyday, people commiting violent crimes or threatening others when they no longer can hold their wives, girlfriends, husbands, and boyfriends captive. Most of the time when I hear people railing about 'til death do us part' in a holier than thou way, I think to myself, " I hope they got away...I hope they made it!" That being said, good luck to Tim and his kids. I have no idea about their situatation.
