And ing Mirza Teletovic:
The Spain/Greece game that will be this Thursday should be a great one. If Greece lost, they are in deep trouble and will need some help to qualify for the QF.
Regarding Spurs players, Parker has just been a monster so far in this Eurobasket. He averages 18.8 ppg in only 27 mpg. His craziest stat is maybe a .692 2P%. Diaw and De Colo have been "so-so".
And ing Mirza Teletovic:
Good call! Congrats.
Where is sendman, maljkovic's sucker, when you need him?
Spain vs Russia
Reminds me of that Green assist to Diaw last year.
De Colo didn't deserve to make the team over Fournier who had a better season in the first place...
Btw Gelabale is arguably the best reliable player after TP, pretty sure he already signed somewhere but if the Spurs could get rid of De Colo and sign Gelable it'd be a good move...
Where is Ian on that French team? He is better than all those bigs they had there, wanted to see him play...
It's debatable that Fournier has had a better rookie season than De Colo. Personally, I would go with De Colo having the better rookie season.
And Fournier wasn't fighting with De Colo for a roster spot. De Colo is a key piece of the NT and was a lock to make the 12 players roster. Forunier was fighting with Charles Kahudi for a roster spot.
Gelabale will play in Russia next season.
Mahinmi doesn't want to play for the FNT for whatever reason(s).
French Beno Udrih? At least he probably didn't cancel the participation via SMS.
Surprising, it's not like him to do so i think, very strange!
I'm not sure that Mahinmi is much better than our centers. Ajinça is doing a nice job right now. Lauvergne makes also a lot of good things and is one of the players we could see every year in FNT. Petro is not very good since the beginning of the tournament but I don't know if Mahinmi would have made a bigger impact than him.
I would give the Beno Udrih award to Joakim Noah but the story around Mahinmi is quite ridiculous. Mahinmi's ego is hurt because he wasn't picked in 2011 and because last spring the coach didn't make the effort of traveling to Indiana to talk with him while he traveled to the USA to see other players. Mahinmi having a wife and a daughter surely doesn't entice him to go play with the NT.
And while France missed some players like Mahinmi, Noah, Turiaf, Ali Traoré or Séraphin, the only true loss is Noah.
Udrih also had his ego hurt, I think it was 2009, when he wanted assurance before Eurobasket that he will be a starter. When our coach didn't want to promise him anything, he left training camp. In 2011 he didn't come because he had a wedding. For comparison, Goran Dragic had a wedding this year, during training camp, was given a day off and everything was fine. But for Udrih... I have no words for him, if I were in charge of the media, I wouldn't even report about him anymore because of his actions.
Meanwhile Lorbek might be following his steps as he always has some excuses. In 2011 he said he won't play but then like whole country almost made a revolution and he changed his mind. This year he is not playing because of a rutine surgery, which has ca. 1 month rehab. And we all know when European clubs finish their season...
If the French bigs can fluster Valanciunas all the better.
Taylor could have a really good sop re outing with Charlotte.
very curious about his situation in Brooklyn. couldn't crack the rotation last season and now he faces KG and AK playing his position. (and I'm pretty sure AK got also kind of a PT guarantee to sign that ridiculous contract).
anyway, even if they all say Prokhorov doesn't care about money, not even about double figure millions, considering the tax he will cost the Nets about 12 million this year and 9-12 million next season. even Prokhorov might find a better use for that money. I'm pretty sure his shooting show at the Eurobasket will remind some teams about what Teletovic can do. and there are some teams that could just absorb his contract. (not the Spurs though and I also didn't want to start a "how can we get Teletovic" discussion. even if he in fact would be a more talented Matt Bonner)
I'm going to France-Lithuania tonight. Hopefully it'll be a good one and France will win.![]()
