Kerry comment extemporaneously seemed random, but does anybody think he and his staff hadn't already talked about all, or any of the ways to solve Syria diplomatically? like what is now being considered?

I heard on NPR this afternoon that Obama and Putin actually discussed, one on one, in Moscow about removing, destroying, whatever Assad's WMD. So Kerry's Mr Magoo doesn't look very Magoo at all.

A Syrian researcher whose work was cited by Secretary of State John Kerry and Sen. John McCain during congressional hearings regarding the use of military force against the Syrian government has now been fired for lying on her resume about having a PhD.
The Ins ute for the Study of War has learned and confirmed that, contrary to her representations, Ms. Elizabeth O’Bagy does not in fact have a Ph.D. degree from Georgetown University. ISW has accordingly terminated Ms. O’Bagy’s employment, effective immediately.
O’Bagy and her op-ed drew scrutiny last week when the Wall Street Journal failed to disclose O’Bagy’s ties to an advocacy group backing the Syrian opposition and lobbying the U.S. government to intervene in Syria. The Journal was forced to post a clarification that “in addition to her role at the Ins ute for the Study of War, Ms. O’Bagy is affiliated with the Syrian Emergency Task Force, a nonprofit operating as a 501(c)(3) pending IRS approval that subcontracts with the U.S. and British governments to provide aid to the Syrian opposition.”
appartently, 's only qualification is that she spoke fluent arabic, thus that's good enough for John Kerry
