Rex Ryan
Geno's elusiveness not really there tbh. seems pretty stiff
I can't figure out which game is worse...this one or the Tech/TCU game.
The only people I know who say Brady made Moss are butthurt Moss haters who predicted he was done entering the 2007 season. I also don't know any Patriots fans who claim Brady made Gronk and Hernandez. They were both stud TEs in college who were all Americans in spite of the ball QBs throwing to them.
putting Welker in the same group as those 3
patsfans still salty over welker's drop. dude has been a stud for you guys for years. instead you have amendola who is doing typically amendola things
pats were at their best when brady was a game manager and they had a stacked defense and running game
So you admit Patriots fans never claimed Brady made Moss, Gronk or Hernandez, hence why you're moving the goalposts to something else.
Glad we could clear that up.
If Welker is such a stud and not a product of Brady, why couldn't he get a contract comparable to that of other stud receivers?
I remember thinking Welker was a shifty little in his limited time in Miami. I knew as soon as he went to NE he was going to do some damage, especially since Brady does a lot of dinking and dunking and Welker is killer at YAC. Belichick seems to have agreed.....
"He killed us," Belichick said. "He killed us on punt returns. And he killed us in the slot. ... I remember we had one “Double 83” when he was playing in the slot in Miami, and we still couldn’t cover him."So came another added bit of motivation to pursue Welker in the 2007 offseason."It’s one thing to acquire a player, it’s another thing to acquire a player that you then don’t have to play against twice a year," the coach added. "If you get the right guy, you’re adding him to your team but also taking off a team you have to play twice a year. There’s definitely something to be said for that."
more from Darth Belichick
"The whole Wes Welker thing started when he was in Miami," Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. "He was a very frustrating player to coach against because we really couldn't handle him. He caught passes. He returned kicks. When Olindo Mare got hurt, he even went in and kicked extra points, field goals and kicked off against us. That was annoying, too. We doubled him. We played him in different combinations. He was always the guy we were trying to game plan for, and still couldn't stop him.""We have just as much trouble covering him in practice, and Tom Brady has just as much confidence throwing to him as the quarterbacks in Miami did when we were trying to defend him," Belichick said. "We don't defend him any better in practice probably than we did trying to defend him when he was at the Dolphins. Nick Saban had him down there, and he just drove us crazy."
Oh yeah the part of the argument where everyone claims they always knew Welker would be good even when he was a no-name in Miami.
"He was the best sub-700 yard receiver I'd ever seen!"
age. i'm not moving goalposts, i included welker in the original group. most people know brady didn't make moss. more like, he saved him from oakland, tbh. moss's career would have died in oakland. everybody also knows prime moss was vikings moss. but this talk of "brady can do it with anybody" when he's been loaded with receivers for the past 6 years is what gets me. every qb needs weapons. brees, manning, rodgers. brady is no exception
You're moving the goalposts away from the notion Patriots fans claim that Brady made Moss, Gronk and Hernandez.
What's your argument for why Welker couldn't get a stud receiver contract when he was a supposedly young, up and coming stud in Miami?
Holy Vladimir Bukkake got a lot better
what happened to studs like chad jackson and donte stallworth? why did BB sing Welker's praises from back when he was on Miami? Welker wasn't very accomplished 2 years into the league. Brady also >> any qb welker had played for on Miami. but this insinuation that brady can magically "replace players within the system" and not miss a beat is ridiculous
Answering my question with random tangents about Chad Jackson and strawman arguments means you have no response
I'm insinuating Brady makes the slot receiver extremely productive. That's it, and the fact he made Troy Brown a 1200 yard slot receiver is among the mound of empirical evidence supporting the notion Brady makes the slot receiver extremely product. That's all I've ever argued.
Welker also played in the league for 3 years before going to New England, you'd know that if you were the die hard pre-Brady Welker fan you claim to be![]()
Raven, what do you make of the defense so far? Tommy Kelly has made a noticeable difference imo and Hightower looks a lot better. Idk how much of this is the front 7 actually getting better or the Jets just sucking.
speaking of strawman... i never said specific to slot receivers. my original post you started responding to was brady overall not needing weapons to dominate
rookies are rookies tbh
