That's why I love the Galaxy Note. It's their flagship model that hasn't been bas ized ...... yet. I hope they keep the Note to one segment and that is for everyone who wants to have a premium phone that they could be proud of.
You're not going to be pleased with Samsung's approach, then.

It seems that they're rebranding the Note as their high-end tablet line, considering the Note 8.0 that came out this year and Note 10.1 refresh everybody's expecting.

Their Galaxy Tab line used to be their high-end tablet products, but the specs of the 3.0 Tabs that came out this year imply they're rebranding these as lower-cost products. The impact of the Nexus 7 line being the best quality tablets at relatively low prices is what probably caused this change in approach.

Side note (pun intended), the "Note" is the worst ing device name ever for a line of premium tech products. Da were they thinking?

I'm not arguing there's anything wrong with having a pen. You can even buy one of those for iPhones/iPads. There's simply nothing novel or "innovative" about it.
    )
yeah but those stylus's from what i've seen just mimmick a finger. I read that jobbs said it would be a failure if the iphone ended up using a pen. But, it I think it was kinda flawed, there is a difference between using a stylus as a tool to navigate everyithing and using it as an accessory to streamline the experience. Is it innovative to bring a stylus back? No. It's just one of those things that make common sense and should have been done earlier.

That was all I was saying. I have no beef with the stylus. If you used pressure-sensitive styluses on Wacom tablets (who created that and holds most of the patents), you know they're great for that kind of stuff.

There are plenty of articles and statements from Apple that state the fingerprint data never leaves a secure area the device, if you had bothered to look, or think.

That was the standard since the Palm Pilot days, and what you see today is just an evolution of that. Innovative was multi-touch and gestures that let you actually use the devices fully *without* a pen (if you were a palm pilot user, you know exactly what I mean )
I have a note 2 and its not just a "pen" it does have controls on it where i can highlight things and copy and paste etc...its not just one of them stylus's u can order from amazon for 1 buck and use on an iphone.

Nobody said $1 styluses... the SPen is a bluetooth pressure-sensitive pen with a button. Just like Pogo Connect ($80), Jot Touch 4 ($90), Wacom Intuos ($99), etc.

    ^ Exactly

What's innovative about the pen? The "highlight" and "copy & paste" is all software, which is exactly what I pointed out to Teysha. If Palm Pilot would be around today, that's exactly what you would expect an evolution of it to look like.

at 1AM Best Buy's site had In Store Pickup for the 5s as an option, reserved one. Woke up at 5AM for work and it was no longer an option... In store sales only. It does state my order cannot be canceled so we'll see if it works

Palm Pilot was innovative. Samsung, by returning this useful tool and developing the software, is innovating in a market that refused to do the same. lol highlight, copy&paste reduction. I annotate legal forms from home. I do all kinds of with maps and notes with them for visiting execs, writers and producers.
I'm doing zero of these things with the iPhone or virtually any android phone. It's Sammy's game and they own it.

Still dont really get your point..just a bunch of ifs and woulda coulda's. U still comparing a $1 stylus pen that has no technology that u can buy for iphones to a s-pen...and that's crazy.

I was reading this morning that most Apple stores only had about 10 or less gold models in stock.

You mean iPhone 5? And is it through BB, because I would think an iPhone 5 could fetch $450 on ebay/CL/kijiji
