This is why not every great team wants to play in the SEC, we know that 50% of the BCS championship is normally played by a team not from the SEC, and there is no need to make life harder when all you have to do is take care of business in your own conference.

IMHO.........given the coaching staff, payroll, access to 5 star (the BEST players in Texas) for sure and ANY coach could win the national championship at Texas. , I think the ship over USC was ALL Vince Young. Coach Mack didnt have to do with it. Again..........IMHO.

Honestly, with all the insane amounts of talent that has been coming into the program for the past 15 years, UT should have won 4-5 NCs AT LEAST, and should have experienced a run similar to what Alabama is currently in. Imagine if Nick Saban or Bob Stoops had access to all that talent, and had the fortune of coaching incredibly talented QBs like Major Applewhite, then Vince Young, then Colt McCoy? I'm sure they would have came out of that stretch with more than just 1 NC. Mack singlehandedly screwed up several of those opportunities, and Brad McCry screwed another one up by babying his son and keeping him out of the game against Bama.

Wouldn't have happened. Byrne would still be here as well as Sherman.

Sherman was in love with Jameill Showers. Doubt Manziel would have ever saw the field in an A&M uniform if this series of events took place. Especially with Manziel's off the field problems prior to the 2012 season. Sherman was liable to suspend Manziel for the entire season.

truthfully, i'd rather be in the SEC. the SEC has the best chance of sending 2 teams to the 4 team format once that starts next year so losing a game will not be a death knoll. and i'd rather create a culture that provides a chance to compete on an annual basis rather than a flash in the pan season.
