It has little to do with diet really. In regards to the East Indians it's when they cook their food, the smells impact their clothing and when they wear said clothing and start to perspire it creates an odour. I have a lot of indian friends that eat "american" cuisine and smell like everyone else.

Hardcore Indians don't wash their hands or use deodorant. I worked around a whole bunch of Indians at USAA and man.. It's rough to be in the elevator with them. It's gross when you see them leaving the restroom without washing their hands. That's one of the reasons I won't go to an Indian restaurant.
