By now you know dude threw 7 TDs tonight. Needs 44 more, for a total of 51, to break the record. Remaining schedule:

    @ Giants
    vs. Raiders
    vs. Eagles
    @ Cowboys
    vs. Jaguars
    @ Colts
    vs. Redskins
    @ Chargers
    vs. Chiefs
    @ Patriots
    @ Chiefs
    vs. ans
    vs. Chargers
    @ Texans
    @ Raiders

44 TDs divided by 15 games is essentially 3 TDs per game. I think he'll have 3 TDs on the table in each of those games except for Houston, New England and maybe Dallas. Obviously the game of football unfolds as it does and he may be in games where he can win without having to throw, but the opportunities will be there for him. Plus he has a home game against Jacksonville, and if he was able to get 7 on Baltimore he should be good for like 23 against the Jags. Also will probably rape his division opponents fairly consistently. And he's probably had that game against the Colts circled since he signed his contract with Denver. I think the Colts D is going to be a lot better than advertised this season, but I'm not dumb enough to suggest they can hold Peyton Manning down. He'll probably blow us out viciously.

We'll keep track of his progress in this thread. I think he can do it.

I will be cheering for him. He gave me 46 points in fantasy.

He would had broken the single game record if the Ravens would have kept it close

Well he won't get 7 every week, but if you're going to throw 51 TDs in a season, the Broncos have just about the perfect schedule to do it with.

He would have got 10 in that game if Belicheck was his coach.

Very possible. I'd also like to point out that when Peyton tossed 49 TD's in 2004, he did that by Week 16. Played one series in Week 17 and went to the bench to rest for the playoffs. Brady needed all 17 games to get 50 in 2007.

I hate this ! Why do the Giants have to face Peyton next week! He is going to facerape them so badly, and Eli won't be able to keep pace. ! Out of every QB, this one just terrifies me.

What happened to the oh so confident giants fan? You usually start out every season saying the Giants will go far and the only ones that can stop them is themselves

i didn't actually think the blue font was necessary on that one

Watching Peyton quarterback an offense is basically a sexual experience. For Baltimore it was non-consensual...

Not with Peyton. I admire this man and love watching him play, but I also fear him. What really ing sucks is the only way Eli will get his 3rd ring is by beating Peyton. A Manning SB is the only way either of these QB's will be getting back to the big game. This is the fate the football Gods have decided.

so he gets the Giants this week, and they can be thrown on. Followed by the Riders, then the eagles who are known for playing with pace. this dude will probably have 20 touchdowns by this month insane.

Peyton had two TD passes yesterday. He's up to 9 now, putting him right at needing 3 per game for the rest of the season. Gets the Raiders at home next week, he should get 3.

Bump. We're up to 12 TDs. He's one TD ahead of 2007 Brady who had 11 after 3 games.

I don't know, Montana is still my guy. But Peyton has definitely been my favorite player to watch the past decade or so. Just in terms of execution and the approach to the game, I could watch him play forever. It's going to suck for the league when he retires.

To JT's point, it will be interesting if he can catch Brady's 50 TD season. Manning made 49 with a lot less attempts and sat a lot in the fourth. That Patriots team in 2007 was running up the score on everybody, it was basically their " you for catching us cheating, now we have to be more subtle" period.

Gotta wonder if Fox will sit out Manning as much as Dungy did, may not make a difference with the way the offense is moving.

Brady had 10 after 3 games in 07. He had 11 a couple seasons ago.

If Peyton had another SB win or two under his belt, yeah, probably the goat.

I still have Elway at #1. Brady #2. Montana #3.

Honestly, I watched every snap of Elway's career and I've watched two seasons of Manning....I don't know if I'm totally comfortable saying this, but I think Manning is as good if not better than Elway.

Elway would routinely throw 40 yard lasers and hit his recievers in stride across the middle, and that is something that Manning doesn't really do. However, what puts Manning in the elite category over Elway (IMO) is the command he has for the offense. Elway ran the plays that were called for him and didn't audible much, Manning runs the entire ing thing.

Having said that, Elway single handidly carried three mediocre teams to three Super Bowls. He lost all three, and it wasn't until he had a complete team that he actually won a couple of them, but I don't think Manning could compensate the way Elway could.

So I may have just talked myself out of Manning being better, but I will tell you, 15 seasons of Elway were incredible to watch, and the past 2 seasons with Manning have been just as much fun.

While I completely agree, I'm also positive that most fans of other teams would love to have that as their quarterback rather then what they have.

Regular season, Manning is the greatest ever and it's not close. Elway's regular season #s are less than spectacular.

But come winning time in the playoff winter cold, Elway would put the team on his back and drag them to playoff wins like nobody I've ever seen.

Everyone remembers the Drive, but his game/4th quarter drive against Moon and the Oilers is never talked about but equally beastly.
