    Yeah....in cases where...

US citizens who are 'a senior operational leader of Al-Queda or an associated force' or in cases where capture is 'infeasible' and where the operation can be carried out in a manner consistent with the applicable 'laws of war'...

    See, it's fun to cherry-pick...

Is that what that 16 year old kid was?

Oh, I forgot, he needed to pick a better father.

He was not with his dad when he was MURDERED by Obama's illegal "nobel peace, humanitarian, ending the wars" drone. The American CHILD was murdered without charge or due process 2 weeks AFTER his American citizen father was murdered without due process.

And no, angrydude is not me, but props to him for being awake

His son was killed 2 weeks after he was.

But the child was killed in a separate strike some two weeks after his father was killed

Moral of the story: don't hang out with terrorists in Yemen. You might catch a missile.

Kid was hanging out with terrorists. If he wasn't in league with them he was incredibly stupid.

I read more than one source:
SANAA, Yemen (AP) – The United States has raised the tempo in its war against al-Qaeda in Yemen, killing nine of the terror group's militants in the second, high-profile airstrike in as many weeks. The dead in the late Friday night strike included the son of Anwar al-Awlaki, the prominent American-Yemeni militant killed in a Sept. 30 strike.....

....Also dead in the Friday airstrike in the southeastern province of Shabwa was Egyptian-born Ibrahim al-Banna, identified by the nation's Defense Ministry as the media chief of the Yemeni branch of the al-Qaeda.

Ibrahim al-Banna, wasn't killed & Abdul Al-alaki wasn't 21 & the time of his death, he was 16. 2 crucial pieces of your source that are wrong & makes that source void.

    ChumpDump, you should read this:
    http://www.truthdig.com/report/page5..._wars_20130425

Pages 4 & 5, it pokes many holes into the rationale of the strike.

Al Banna wasn't even there & an admin source claims the strike was intentional!

    According to whom?

The terrorists? Well he's had plenty of time to post a video mocking the US. Where is that?

& Abdul Al-alaki wasn't 21 & the time of his death, he was 16. 2 crucial pieces of your source that are wrong & makes that source void.

Getting the age wrong doesn't invalidate the source. They reported what they were initially told.

No al-Banna? Well that kind of makes claims to his living void, doesn't it?

Yemen's interior Ministry has disclosed on Wednesday that Al-Qaeda has a "terrorist" plan to attack Al-Mukallh of Hadhramout governorate with the aim of declaring it as an Islamic Emirate.
In its website, it said that 300 of Al-Qaeda operatives including three leaders, Ibraheem Al-Bana'a, Egyptian Nationa, Qasim Al-Raimi, and Shaker Hamel were planning to attack strategic government facilities, military and security camps.
    http://www.yemenpost.net/Detail12345...D=3&SubID=4872

This is not the first time Banna has been announced dead, while experts believe the regime fabricated his story to receive more International support at a time when opposition forces are calling for change.

Nabil Bukairi, an AQAP experts based in Sana’a said that Ansar Sharia would not lieabout the claims that Banna was alive. “The group has nothing to loose by staying quiet after the announcing of Banna's death but for it to come out with a statement is only proof that they are confident in their claims.”

No, not at all, in fact I'm a bit baffled how you come to that conclusion?...a different location is possible (due to bad intelligence) or intentionally killing the child & using Al-Banna as a smokescreen is also possible, both pointed out by Jeremy Scahill; in the source I gave you.

So the terrorists are your source.

You find them trustworthy, do you?

Actually, they have every reason to say he's alive. Portraying the killing of the kid as deliberate or useless since the target wasn't there completely plays into terrorist propaganda.

    The initial reports were wrong!
    OK, show me al-Banna.

No, not at all, in fact I'm a bit baffled how you come to that conclusion?...a different location is possible (due to bad intelligence) or intentionally killing the child & using Al-Banna as a smokescreen is also possible, both pointed out by Jeremy Scahill; in the source I gave you.
Why would they target the kid?

    Explain.

This thread is pointless. No one cares about due process anymore. Well not in Murica anymore. And with Obama in office, people are okay with it because Obama is a cool hip black president that every Murican can relate to.

agreed. If you are a terrorist, much better to hang out in Saudi Arabia or the US than a worthless country like Yemen that nobody important cares about. Im surprised anyone lives in Yemen, they should all just move, its really easy after all. Same with Sudan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Somalia. And if terrorists arrive with you, well just keep moving, Im sure eventually you'll reach a country that is either free of terrorists (certified by US intelligence, they do have a list right? Either way most terrorists usually put a flag or a uniform so they are easily distinguishable, if you cant tell your neighbors are terrorists you just arent looking, after all the US can easily see where terrorists are from thousands of miles away) or has enough military/economic clout to avoid getting a few dozen precision missiles with 1000 pounds of explosive each delivered to them.
