lets just hope he's a hard worker and is dedicated to fixing his shot.

They went to the same school, they aren't brothers.
I'm wondering if hitting 3-pointers is actually a priority for the Spurs, considering that it's the 15th spot, who will not receive much playing time. I'm thinking that the Spurs are valuing his defense more than his ability to learn to make perimeter shots.
Could be much worse ... he's a legit back up sf
+1. I was thinking the same thing. I LOVE this signing. He is a pretty damn good option to back up Kawhi for 10-15 mins a night. I've always loved his toughness and energy he brings on defense. Another big reason I like the move is because the guy has been in big time playoff games being with the Grizzlies and Pacers. Good stuff by R.C and company...![]()

Sam Young spent his last night in the DMV helping, drilling, & showing the kids what WORK looks like. Which makes it all the more likely either De Colo or Mills is gone if Young makes it.
LOL, Still soar over losing the bet. Hang in there Chump, whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
I like it. typical Spurs, underrated signing.
"Soar"?
What bet?
Signing Young or not doesn't change the fact they'll still have 4 PG's, none of which can play SF. The fact that both Mills and De Colo are still here makes it more likely they won't be traded anytime soon.
You guys ought to spend some time researching online and reading about Sam Young's life story. If you do, you'll really start rooting for the guy and be glad he's a Spur.
It's not an issue of having 4 PGs. It's an issue of having 15 players.
Signing Young takes them to the maximum roster size, which makes future moves move difficult. The Spurs are not known for committing to 15 players this early in the season, so if Young gets kept, I'm anticipating a move to free up one more spot.
Mills/De Colo might be kept if the Spurs don't take on more players. If they do, all bets are off.
ing got batie
....I got nothing else to contribute
We just got our third LeBron slower. I like the move, logical, good and Spurs-type.
Can't be worse than SJax last season. Sure, he can't shoot, but I doubt he'll jack up 3s at a 29% clip.
this was by far the best option that was left. I do like it!
Young is tough, strong, physical and a pro. he gives the Spur's roster a nice balance regarding their defensive needs.
at 28 Young isn't a spring chicken any more. but Bruce was already 30, when he joined the Spurs. if Young can develop his corner shot a bit, he might even have a long term future with the Spurs, considering the Spurs have a long term solution for the starter SF in Kawhi and will only need a relieable back up, who is happy with some 10-15 MPG.
I'm surprised dude hasn't got a guaranteed offer by some team. Hope he plays well and sticks with the Spurs.
He'd provide a great defensive option off the bench and allow them to mix and match depending on the opponent : CoJo-Manu-Young would be great defensively and allow Manu to spare his energy for offense. Belinelli-Manu-Young would be very good offensively without sacrificing too much on defense. Doesn't bode well for Patty and Nando, though.
