Trick question. Different books in the New Testament say both scarlet and purple, and still other translations say crimson in place of scarlet.
None of the colors changes the intent to denote royalty or special place as all three colors debated status, wealth, power, and/or royalty.
Matthew 27:28 = Scarlet
Mark 15:17 = Purple

If this bag wants to question scripture there are a lot of other gnats to sh*t out after swallowing the camel. In one of them I believe Mark said they traveled from A-B-C which makes no sense because they would have gone A-C-B. It is not relevant because it changes absolutely nothing about the spiritual point being made.

It isn't a "mistake" it is an "irrelevance." Purple, say some, is anything from violet to crimson/red/scarlet. We are getting caught in the weeds. God allows PLENTY of translation bias to corrupt scripture. That's why it now says stupid things like "Sexual Immorality" or "Marital Unfaithfulness" when the word means "premarital sex". The scriptures are VEILED and God uses many methods to ensure they remain that way. SOME find the truth, but they are few. And that's the way it is. Don't ask me why. Refer to the other thread where I showed you God's explanation.
To trip up those planted in the rocky soil. To trip the many. The crowd. To make it where only a few find what is true.

The billion dollar question. He alludes as to why and much of it has to do with mercy and in giving a foil for the elect. It makes His prophecy come true.
