In fact it has to or it cannot survive....If it tries to survive on its on without government interference then it will be forced into being a government in and of itself.

Because free enterprise ultimately means being beholden to your own personal success moderated in large part by your shareholders...For as wonderful a workplace as Google is touted to be do you think they're in the business of building general infrastructure to get them from point A to point Z and all the places in between that actually helps them to grow their business? Listen this Nation's history was born out of slavery and Poor whites (typically conservative) are always just footsteps away from being treated like by "free enterprise".
My point is what movement do you think led to basic rights in labor laws, (typically giving majority of workers sat and sun off or a flex work schedule) who do you think led the cause for workers comp when hurt on the job, or the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), or widening access to education (and not just for minorities). These are all democratic causes (and every civilized nation in the world recognized the benefit). Free enterprise always looks for ways to screw over the avg worker...and they operate in silo's...they're not going to provide protections or services for anyone outside of their enterprise..and when you leave that enterprise for the day you're on your own. They seem like they grant prosperity but we all know it's because of the government requirements placed on them for them to operate. They manipulate markets and typically discriminate from within. They don't want the government telling them they have to provide fair (and living ) wages or health insurance for their workers. If they could they'd operate similar to the sweat shops in many of the Asian countries. Unfortunately they prefer to operate in secrecy with no oversight and they rely heavily on emotional and uneducated voters such as yourself to be filled with fake pride towards their goals.
It's like Joe the Plumber. This guy was earning 40k a yr and had the nerve to think that as a plumber he'd earn more than 250k a yr. let's say he actually made it to the middle class..Redistribution of wealth under Obama actually helps this clown, and redistribution happens on a daily basis at every level. The current issue are the rates paid to doctors working as part of hospital-owned clinics versus physicians working in their own, independent offices....Right now when a doctor works as part of a hospital owned practice, and bills Medicare, they're paid more than what they'd receive for providing the same services in their own independent practice. That’s because of a loopholes between Medicare’s inpatient and outpatient billing schemes...so the hospitals have started purchasing doctor practices allowing them to bill at higher rates for the same services because of these loopholes in system. I think it's called Part (A) and (B) - of this billing scheme. Doctors from the smaller practices (once bought by the hospitals) can now offset their losses by being part of this scheme. Keep in mind we're talking about system in place today well before "Obama care" is enacted.
Once Obama care is fully enacted these loop holes are closed and the doctors costs are again "normalized" They cannot start charging crazy prices for average services. So in this sense we cannot solely rely on "free market" enterprise or none us would be able to survive because they'd charge 1000.00 for a basic co-pay....why? because like everything else GREED....not even the doctors themselves would survive without these checks and balances. Unless they have a silent agreement to take care of their own...so I think free enterprise / capitalism should always be balanced by socialism and even lite communism as required.

When I had no money I still got treatment in the USA back in 1993. My wife had a miscarriage when I was in flight school with no insurance. TREATED. We paid them back ten bucks a month.
