Rand Paul on Deface the Nation (VIDEO)

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., says if Congress fails to reach an agreement on the budget and Obamacare, and the government shuts down, Democrats' "my way or the highway" approach would be to blame.

"Democrats' "my way or the highway" approach would be to blame."

Repugs lost the Senate, lost seats in the House (while losing Congressional votes by 1M), and Dems retained the White House in a landslide which was also a referendum on the Dem's Cons utional LAW ACA as version of successful Romneycare.

Elections have consequences, so Repugs, esp assholes like tea baggers and fake libertarians like RP, you can eat Dem .

the shutdown and default are 100% on the Repugs.

Rand Paul is getting smeared as a Cruz companion. RP is ed outside of his KY jelly-for-brains state and gerrymandered red districts.

but please please please run RP as 2016 Pres candidate with Bachmann as veep.

Paul: Some government ‘idiot’ sent ‘goons’ to block WWII memorial

“Did you read the story today?” Paul asked on Fox’s Hannity. “Some idiot in government sent goons out there to set up barricades, so they couldn’t see the monument.”

    Cruz took 42 percent support,

while physician Ben Carson and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum both took 13 percent support — but Carson came in ahead of Santorum by one vote.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) came in fourth with six percent

and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) took fifth with five percent support.

    Rand Paul's Muslim-Bashing Speech

Paul spent his 19-minute speech at the Value Voters summit on Friday talking about Muslims.

Paul opened his speech with an attention grabbing line: “From Boston to Zanzibar, there is a worldwide war on Christianity.”

Paul noted the actions of two Muslims in each location to support his thesis that there are up to a “100 million” Muslims who want to slaughter Christians.

Paul, in an amazing feat of intellectual gymnastics, told the audience that the war on Christianity had come to America. Where you ask? Well, Paul deemed the Boston marathon bombing to have been perpetrated, “not against our government but against us as a people, a Christian people.”

I get why Paul is desperate. He very badly wants to be President. But it’s not going well. He was publicly smacked down this past summer by Chris Christie, one of his chief rivals for the Republican presidential nomination.

And Paul has recently been overshadowed by Ted Cruz.

All you need to do is check out Paul’s speech from last year’s summit which focused solely upon his faith and outlook on life to realize that the stakes have changed for him.

To Paul, this speech was sort of a fear mongering “Hail Mary” speech. But it failed. Paul came in fourth in the Value Voters straw poll.

Paul Warns of Logan's Run Type Future in VA

Flagging gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli brought in Tea Party demi-god Sen. Rand Paul for a campaign event today in Virginia. And Paul warned of a future, presumably helped along by Terry McAuliffe in which science would lead to the destruction of whole classes of non-perfect people ...

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/...e-future-in-va

Paul probably worried that he would have qualified to be destroyed as brain-absent by a Terry McAuliffe society

Will the Christie Juggernaut Roll Over Ted Cruz and Rand Paul?

None of this will endear Christie to the tea party and fundamentalist factions that presently dominate the Republican Party, but, like the legendary honey badger, he just doesn't care -- and as a strategic matter, he doesn't need to. Drawing parallels with the last two presidential cycles, Christie and his advisors can easily imagine him triumphing over a divided gaggle of right-wing clowns, just as John McCain and Mitt Romney did. And then, somewhat less easily, they must imagine that he will transcend the limitations of those candidates to win in November.

Certainly, Christie is open to attack on many fronts; his record on women's rights and reproductive health, his at ude toward the poor and vulnerable in his own state, his misuse of state resources to benefit himself while slashing vital budget lines -- are all deeply troubling. Like Rudolph Giuliani, he could find that his bullying style becomes stale and grating. His constant blather about public employees may leave voters wondering whether he has anything else to say. And to put it bluntly, nobody who looks like him has been elected president since the departure of William Howard Taft a century ago.

His right-wing detractors will hardly let him escape the primaries unscathed, if he somehow contrives to win the nomination. Yet in the months to come, should he choose to pursue the presidency, Christie can serve a significant role in his party and his country, rallying the forlorn Republicans who reject the nihilism of his opponents. He will tell it like it is about Rand Paul and Ted Cruz -- and they won't like it at all.
