Why when the best "young" quarterbacks names come up, it's always Kaepernick, Wilson, RGIII, or Luck? I'm not saying that Newton should be put into the likes of the Manning brothers, Brady, or Brees. But I don't understand why he is being dismissed this early in his career. Especially after having a 2-14 team with no weapons outside of Steve Smith and brought them to a pretty decent team. They had no defense before this year.
None of the other quarterbacks have had that issue. The only reason the Colts sucked that year was because Peyton was injured. They still had that elite team around them. Their defense has always been mediocre. Kaepernick was on an elite team, and RGIII, while maybe not being on an elite team, had way more options than Newton.
Newton has put up good statistical stats, breaking a few rookie records (even though RG3 broke his rushing record last year). After two years of solid improvement, I really believe (non-bias aside) that he can be an elite quarterback.
I want some serious input, all trolling aside. I want to know what I'm missing here. Because I'm pretty sure he's had similar success to Luck through his first two years.
Andrew Luck has led a team to an 11-5 record. Cam Newton has yet to lead a team to a .500 record, so it's pretty re ed to say he's had similar success to Luck.
The "The only reason the Colts sucked" argument is especially re ed since Peyton was also gone in 2012. Luck took over a 2-14 team just like Newton did.
Cam's stats are nothing special. He's not a winner.

Newton has a career completion % of 58 something, his QB rating a weak 85.something.

What are you talking about? He got drafted because he's a winner. Their record has improved since they've gotten him.
Again, put it into perspective of his team. Steve Smith was literally the only threat on their team. Yet he managed to bring them to 6-10.

I said the Patriots would beat Cam Newton's team. You don't have to be good to beat Cam Newton's team. Most teams do it, seeing that Cam Newton has lost most of the games he's played in.

This thread is about Cam Newton - not their defense. Which is the reason that Atlanta threw not one, but two Hail Mary's to beat them last year. Cam had nothing to do with it. So really, like always, you are not proving .And yet you're 1-3 against the Falcons in that timeframe
