you Matt.
Friend of mine is a big Colts fan too and it's his birthday Sunday so his girlfriend chipped in a little bit with me and I got some tickets to the game in Houston on Nov. 3. They're not the best seats, but from what I can deduce from the seating chart they're in the 5th row of the top shelf section and we're on the 45 yard line, visitor sideline. I'm excited to get to see Luck play, best part is dude has no idea we got these tickets and he's going to have that divided by zero look on his face when he opens the birthday card.
Never been to Reliant though. If any of you guys have been what can I expect going there as a fan of the only division rival that's ever mattered to the Texans? I'm pretty confident I can out -talk anyone in person so I don't really care if people start . We already have a parking pass, is the tailgating decent? If not, what's a good place near the stadium to pregame at that's close enough to not get a DWI on the way there?
Tailgaiting is the there. Damn good experience, umm in terms of experience as fan of division rival, just watch out for the MexicansThere especially they will gang up and jump you. If you're looking for a place to eat at before the game, Pappadeaux is right across the street, Pappasitos is too but never been there. Joe's crab shack also right across the street.
Nice. Since the game is on Sunday Night Football, I figured if we make town real early we could tailgate some. I'm totally prepared for a lot of boos, yous, Colts suck, all that stuff etc.![]()
Yeah...tailgating at Reliant kicks ass. Lot's of places to park right around the stadium too. Left my car in the parking lot of an Extended Stay that was right across the street. It was like ten bucks. I stuffed a few beers in my pockets and headed down to the tailgate area. MJ is right about Mexican Texan fan. They are annoying as . Just shake your head and keep walking.
Most of the fans are cool people in the stands. I went the the Cowboys/Texans(which is almost the same as the opposing fan scenario that you will be dealing with) game and didn't have any problem with anyone and no one around me started anything even though there was a whole row of Cowboys fans in front of us. Of course there is always that one guy...skinny with a little bit of muscle definition, skin tight Cowboys shirt, mirrored aviators...you get the picture. He was about six rows in front of my buddy and I, standing up and waving his hands and yelling all kinds of mother er this and punk that at some Texans fan that was just smiling at him shaking his head. He acted a couple of times like he was going to walk past the five or six seat that separated him and the Texans fan but his friends kept grabbing him to stop him. If it was me on the other end of that I wouldn't be getting thrown out...wasting the good money I spent on tickets...I would have just gotten the usher and told him that he need to tell the guy to chill before he leaves the stadium in an ambulance.
Well, I've gone to a few Spurs games in Dallas, both after the 7-game 2006 playoff series that Dallas won, which is probably a real similar situation to this. I don't think anyone will try to start with me physically...I'm almost 6 and a half feet tall and the first question anyone always asks me is "Did you play football?" so yes, please try to start some with me Mr. skinny er in aviators
Can you openly bring alcohol to NFL tailgating? I'd assume no, even at some college games I've gone to they've had police stopping people going in with unopened cases and what not. I've smuggled before and I'll do it again but if you guys think the tailgaters would be receptive of fans from the visiting team I'd rather chill and talk to some folks than pregame at a bar/restaurant.
You may be able to, but I'd have to check on that. But yeah I think there should be plenty of people receptive to opposing fans. The only time recently I remember a brawl was between Cowboys and Texans fans, both Mexicans lol
Just found the tailgating regulations for Reliant and there's nothing on there about alcohol. So I guess as long as the alcohol you bring isn't store in a container that violates their regulations, then you're okay.
Kubiak's a bigger problem than Schaub. He's an atrocious play-caller.
That is true. But he isn't the one throwing pick 6's
Yup. Schaub needs to stop those stupid mistake. He's been a starter since 2007. He should know better.
That didn't take long - 1:30 in to the game. Look on the bright side Matt, you get the ball right back.
Nobody should ever have to take this as a fan. No one.
Well at least Schaub holds a record he deserves to have.
