it's not a drop-dead date. it's soft Geithner can pick who gets not paid, what doesn't get paid. won't default on bond holders, esp not foreigners, but will not pay, eg, a US contractors.
So what happens if October 17th rolls around and we're still in the midst of a government shut down? Interest rates e, credit markets seize up, people start dumping t-bills and t-bonds, economic chaos, and then what? Are they just going to declare martial law and go ahead and spark off one of the most anticipated and acious battles in humankind history pitting neighbor against neighbor? Political bickering is at an all time high and there is a growing majority of people who are no longer going to sit idly by and watch our country swirl around the drain until there's nothing left to fight over. The last time there were this many gun and ammo purchases were in the years leading up to the civil war.
most of my military buddies are awake and seem ready to tackle the challenge if necessary..i see oathkeepers is expanding and preparing rapidly amid a growing concern about a power grab by the administration. the world war 2 vets recently were the first to lead the charge, saying to with the shutdown and boldly knocking down those barricades to enter the memorial. Crazy times we are living in folks, I sincerely hope each and every one of you will see the light and wake up in time to save yourselves and your families. We all have a common enemy and we can work out all the smaller kinks and disagreements in the aftermath.

That's pretty hilarious, considering anyone who's been around guns for more than a day knows that your AR is absolutely useless against a decent rifle with a scope. Your accuracy with that weapon extends to maybe 400 yards if you're a good shot. A .300 Win could quintuple that with just a twist of the scope to calibrate with room to spare.
But yeah, don't let anyone stop you from thinking your run of the mill semi-auto assault rifle is badass and all.
