Well ... he still architected them. Can't hate him for creating these super teams.
Which is the whole point of the thread, Pat Riley set it up, he created enough space to sign 3 players for 15m+ and still have enough room for a decent enough supporting cast to win.
Look at what West did, he got Kirby and Shaq the same season + he got Phil which led to 5 chips, he traded Kwame and scraps for Pau ing Gasol, the best big man in the league. After ringing once, he also pulled Ron ing Artest out of his ass to make the Lakers even more deeper and better defensively.
Red had the most stacked rosters in NBA history, those 50s and 60s Celtics at one point had 8 HOFers on one team, they ing annihilated the Lakers like 7-8 times in the Finals during that era, Lakers would have had 20+ les by now had it not been for the Celtics.
Good list ...riley absolutely deserves mention ...
I would say you should put krause (I think that's his name) in there too. He Bought some important pieces for the bulls like pippen and rod man to build around Mike. Jordan hated him but you can't deny he did a good job creating the greatest team assembled In 96 and having a great bulls team overall in the 90s
So wait, we needed Stern to get past the powerhouse Orlando Magic? But Pat Riley didn't need Stern in 06?

Stern deserves 100 percent of the credit for the Heat's gift in 2006.
Three deserves credit for 2006, arguably the best Finals performance of all-time, tbh..

There is nothing special about sucking to get the number one draft pick. Its like calling a lottery winner a financial genius.
it was good but MJ has had better with less questionable ft shooting. Wade was uber efficient and Shaq was lackluster (his worst Finals by far) so what Wade did was pretty impressive.
Shaq was old, Wade did benefit from his presence though.
Wade's numbers are so mind-boggling because that was the first year handchecking was made illegal, guys like Kirby and Iverson averaged 35 and 32 ppg respectively, Wade also knew how to exploit that in the Finals and he drew a lot of fouls.
No question, that was by far the worst finals ever played in. He still averaged 10.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists with the Heat experimented with having Shaq run the offense a few times, but as the series went on, it's clear that putting the ball in Wade's hand was the way to go.
He only averaged 13.7 ppg (on 60.7% shooting though). The problem with Shaq was that he shot 14-48 on FTs in the series (that's 29%, bad even for Shaq standards), so Dallas would foul him every time he touched the ball. If Shaq would have shot 50% from the line, and assuming Dallas kept fouling him and Miami wouldn't feed him the ball more, he would have averaged around 18 ppg, still below Shaq standards, but not bad.
