has no intentions of dialing it back this year. This will come back to hurt the Spurs again in the playoffs...if he even makes it there.
He had a pretty damn good game tonight, not sure what you watched...
Pop realized that YEARS ago. You preserve Manu by limiting his minutes and games. He played 60 games and 23 minutes per contest. I can see the games staying about the same, but the minutes may dip below 20.
You missed the point. Its not about him playing good or bad right now. Its about not adjusting his style for the long haul, and being broken down by the playoffs by playing this reckless style.
This style turns into turnovers in the playoffs for someone his age.
As expected he's keeping his role...
Ay Dios, can we go one day without a Manu bashing thread?
Why is a basketball observation flipped into bashing by some of you? Is what I'm saying not what happened last year?
And the year before, and the year before, and the year before.
I'm not bashing. I'm simply saying what many had hoped for, and discussed all offseason, is obviously not gonna happen, and what will he the cause of that. I hope I'm wrong.
Asking him to completely change his style is re ed. It looks like he bulked up a bit so maybe he'll be a bit more protected. At any rate they brought in Beli to play his role should he get hurt and I'm sure he'll get plenty of games off to rest his body. If he can keep his stroke he'll be a benefit to the team.
If he dials it back, "he's done". If he plays like he always plays, "he's reckless".
Sit back and enjoy the show.
The are you talking about? Manu G is a ARTIEST. That's what he do. For 20 years Manu has played like this.
Not adjusting his game is re ed. He won't make it to the playoffs, or will limp in.
IMO he'll have some sort of adjustments by season's start. As I said his shot looks good; maybe he'll do a lot more spot up shooting this year.
Manu will always be Manu, A hit or miss type of player. High risk high reward, its just who he is.
Wasn't able to watch the game, how did he do? How does he look?
Manu is the 2nd best spur in Spurs history. He can do whatever the he wants to do. The Man has earned that right.
Pretty good. As Nono said he made all his shots and filled out the stat sheet.
That's the adjustment I'm hoping for.
Manu played very hard tonight like it was a playoff game. He was on the floor going
for balls a couple of times tonight. It was classic Manu! He had a nice
smooth stroke for a three. It looked good.
he made all his shots? smh manu blowing his load early in the season per par...
they aren't paying him 7 million to be a spot up shooter. he's still going to be an integral part of this team, and thats a good thing
I think it was either 09 or 10, but they tried to have him dial back his game by having him drive less and settle for pop up jumpers. It made him less likely to get injured but it effectively ruined his effectiveness on the court. Out made him too predictable. Having Marco around means he doesn't have to always be the primary decision maker once TP is resting. That is why Marco will help conserve Ginobili.
