So if Maggette draws 3 or 4 fouls that wouldn't have been there per game, that adds another like 4 minutes to the time the starters are resting on the bench. Is that a significant thing to think about? I mean, game 6 plus 4 minutes of rest for our big guys?

If Maggette can play 15 min a game this season and get to the line 5 times and not up on defense I will be very happy.
That kind of efficiency is almost unheard of, though. 5 FTA/15 minutes (or did you mean 10 FTA/15 mnutes )

There are only so many possessions where he can get the ball in 15 minutes of play.

Maggette plays at his best when he as Timmy and Manu with him so that he can slash to the basket and get easy feeds and draw easy fouls.

The only players who get to the line at that pace are people like Kevin Durant or Lebron James, etc. Superstar players.

I expect to see more Baynes and Ayres on the court together in the second half. Hopefully Baynes and Ayres can outbid Matt Bonner for playing time throughout the season. Of course Pop <3 Matt Bonner.

He's looked quite a bit more meager than he looked last season. It looks like he's taken a step back, honestly.

All of our backup point guards have glaring flaws, though. I'd say CoJo and Patty are probably in the running. NDC just feels like he's an average basketball player all around who doesn't contribute spectacularly to any one facet of the game. His vision is generally pretty good, but he's too conservative on offense for this to matter because people know he's generally looking to pass.

Damn, I didn't even know a preseason game was on.

    How did Maggette look?

Encouraging that Ayres is having another solid outing, according to posts on here.

Historically Maggette gets about 9 attempts/36 min. He makes his living at the line. He can get 5 attempts in 15-20 minutes. Runs the break and baseline well.

Maggette has 4 fouls in the first half of a preseason game, I've seen enough.

    Yeah but he's 35

Historically he's also averaged 20 points per 36 minutes. I don't think he'll average 8-9 points per 15 minutes of play.

God damnit NDC. Tony would've looked for that pass.

That play pretty much sums up why I don't like NDC. It just feels like he's looking to blend in and become invisible on the floor all the time. He doesn't want to do too much.

On a brighter note, Manu has looked particularly spry for these two games. He looks fantastic. Much better than last season's disaster where he just looked like he totally lost confidence.

4-4 on free throws, got to the line a couple of times. Looked okay I guess.

Yeah, RC clowned the Spurs this off season. What will end up happening is Ginobili will once again be asked to take over the reigns in the 4th quarter down the stretch which is exactly what the Spurs wanted to avoid coming into the season. Then, people wonder why Ginobili's game turns to in the post season.

CoJo needs to get his act together sooner rather than later. It's not like he's playing against lockdown defenders.

Even though manu airballed that 3, I like the confidence. He doesn't look like he's afraid to shoot anymore. There was a play in the first half where he took it to the rim and looked to score instead of always looking to pass.
