10 years seems to be a high estimate, I would say 3-5 depending on when Kobe Bryant leaves and stops hogging cap space.

Just bc the lakers have quickly rebuilt in past doesnt mean itll repeat themselves. They have one of the lousiest 5 year forecasts in the league

You think Fredo dies after those 5 years though? probably got 20 more years before joining pops in the ground, so LA JV could be irrelevant for the next two decades tbh.

Kind of makes me laugh how Laker fan used to fellate Jerry Buss as being such a great owner and the reason they won, but when he dies and his idiot son takes over the success due to Jerry is supposed to continue on?

Lakers future is murky. But I do think they will be back. Laker fan wont accept extended mediocrity. I do hope we stay patient and wait for the right star. And dont throw cash on aging damaged goods like Melo. I like Carmelo, but he is not a max player. Only 2 guys worth max Lebron and durant.

If Kyrie stays healthy, maybe him too ...but hesitant to make a PG not named Magic, Isiah, Stockton, GP Kidd a franchise player with cap hogging contract. Cp3 may not even be worth it (post injury)

Quit kidding yourselves... The Lakers will rebuild after Kobe because they are that rich.

It's not about the money, it's about establishing a winning culture. With Jerry Buss,West and Phildo gone, Lakers are nothing. No one wants to play for MDA(a reason why Dwight left). Lakers will have to re-build through the draft eventually.

More than the 31,000 points, 15 All-Star selections and five championships, more than the silky turnaround jumpers, effortless baseline drives and feverish scoring binges, Bryant will forever be remembered for a belief in himself that you couldn't strip with a dozen Bruce Bowens. Years ago, upon returning from the horror flick Saw II, Bryant described for Lakers trainer Gary Vitti a scene in which a victim awakens to find a contraption locked around his neck lined with nails pointed at his head. A videotape explains that the victim can unlock the device with a key, but it has been surgically implanted behind his right eye, and he can only extract it with a scalpel. He has a minute before it closes over his face and kills him. "I think I could get that key," Bryant said.
