To add to your argument.. 8 TOs might not be even 8 bad passes by a soccer player. It might be the sum of bad passes and interceptions of even good passes by the opposite team's player.

Besides that, is not common to see teams making 8 goals per game, one thing is futbol soccer (whatever) where teams average 3 goals in a good game, and another thing is basketball where teams play in a reduced space and average 100 points a game.
An average Ben Affleck makes 8 cheap actor faces per second, but thats acting so we cant compare it with basketball.
