Damn, I need to learn how to play. Don't know much about guitars but I love this cover.
Awesome.
I am a Fender guy myself..I am currently playing a Strat 54 reissue and a Tele that I put together myself from Warmoth parts and went all boutique on the pickups, wiring, etc...
I am playing on an Allen Brown Sugar amp - which is basically a boutique Fender - Vibrolux - but with a little nastier side to go with the Fender clean. Or more accurately - a Fender Vibrolux combined with a Tweed.
I usually record on Garageband for demos and have Logic Pro for final mixes.

That guitar is a great Gibson. Odd finish for a Les Paul though.
It might be the Zak wylde les paul or something like that - that was his little design thing IIRC.
Too much. I have a Rickenbacker 660/12 which looks like Tom Pettys Ric, a Hofner Club (not Beatle) bass, a Gibson Les Paul Jr. Dbl cutaway, and a Danelectro Longhorn bass, as well as a Martin acoustic.
Yeah, I thinned the herd so much in the last year or two - I had about a dozen electrics - half a dozen acoustics - a flamenco guitar - and a boatload of amps -
But It was a pain in the arse to change strings, keep em in the rotation, and justify all the storage room in the house.
I started sending them off to good homes on evil bay - and I cannot believe I am down to 2 guitars and 1 amp.
I will probably only get an acoustic and then try not to buy any more. Now I really can get into the strat sound heavily and when I crave the twang of a Tele - I get on that kick for awhile - then back to the strat....keeps me happy.
That Rick sounds awesome - I have a few songs where I know that a Ric 12 string would be the ticket - just haven't found a great one.
Then as soon as I get a Ric 12 - I have to buy a Vox amp ....right? No self-respecting Beatle fan would have a Ric - and no Vox.
Then I will end up with 50 instruments again lol.
I know how that goes, other than a small practice bass amp, I have all the amps now that I will ever need.
But I want to get me another Hohner 5string headless bass guitar like I had. They bought out all the Steinberger patents.
I also want another Alvarez Yairi Koa acoustic electric like I had. Lost them to guitar jail, pawn shops.
I buy all my best guitars on eBay. I also want another Strat. They say the Mexican ones have the better necks than the American ones, but I don't know.
You might want to check out a MIJ or a CIJ Strat (made in japan) (crafted in japan) - especially one that was marked "not for export" those are reputed to be as good as the Fender USA Custom shop strats. They were supposed to NOT be exported to the USA because Fender didn't want them to compete with USA strats - that is how good they are.
I have had so many great strats - some pretty dang pricey - some just cheapies that played great - with strats - there are great ones in all prices.
I have had some 3000 dollar boutique strats that were great but it is a lot of coin for a toy -
I have had Fender reissues (1300-1700) that were great - some that were not special at all-
My current one is a CIJ 54 ri - that smokes the 3k ones - no lie. It just has it - the vibe, the mojo, the tone, the best neck I ever played on -period.
I think I just got really lucky - found it on craigslist for 450 bux! She ain't going nowhere. Threw in some Grosh Fat 60's pickups and installed a NOS (NEW OLD STOCK) wiring harness and she smokes!
Just gotta play a bunch of them in all prices - MIM, CIJ, MIA, all of them - there are great ones in every category. I have played some Made in Mexico strats that were ty - and I have played some MIM strats that smoked the American strats.
The great ones are out there.
I'll keep an eye out. I used to poo poo strats for years, then one day I was in a pawn shop paying off one of my guitars and the owner said she had a Stevie Ray Vaughn Strat for sale real cheap since she knew I was a collector. I took a chance and bought it. After playing it I soon realized why it is considered the workhorse of the industry.
That Strat also went to guitar jail.
Those are good strats - I had one for a few years when I went through my srv/jimi phase - they are based on a 59 neck with 62 body.
I'll check with you before I get my Strat in the next couple of months to get your advice.

John Lennon agrees with this thread.
Really? Lennon would agree with this post?
John Lennon. That dude was way ahead of his time.
To bad his earlier life and cynicism caught up with him.
But he was a bold dude and didn't suffer fools lightly.
Then he was murdered.
A shame, a total shame.
Agreed. I think our good friend ClipperNation needs some love sent his way!
He might be a little hurt by my careless barb - but Love is all about forgiveness and I am sure he will "feel" my sincerity.
