Society's main thing - is keeping you distracted. Keeping you & I AWAY from reality. With distractions. More lights, more sound, more choices, more diversions, more everything.

This keeps people blind. So-called religion -while doing some good - also does a lot of bad - and also keeps people AWAY from reality.

The further away from reality we are -the more blind we are- the more people will begin to crave a "connection" to a "truth"

Unfortunately - this will only lead people back to "religion" - which will make them blind again.

IMHO it would be to maintain control, to keep you from exploring outside the box, to keep you from possibly hurting yourself or others.
Society has good reasons for doing this, for the greater good of the majority.
But does that make it right?
Religion functions much the same way.

They both have the same ends, control for the GREATER good of the MAJORITY.
In that way they control the majority to their own agenda, and if the Truth is counter to this agenda, then the truth becomes a casualty to the greater good.

Great points. Obviously you have had life experiences and have seen things that were not black & white.

His resorting to ridicule snaps of frustration in an inability to grasp the subject matter.
A critical thinker would at the very least ponder over what he reads, but he admitted he didn't even do that with my post, instead he wasted time formatting which in reality was a trivial thing to do.
But it was easier than thinking I suppose.
