parker is the best pg in the league tbh
I know it is a preseason game, but TP seems to play like trash against the Heat. The only two guys that you can count on to show up against them consistently is Duncan and Leonard. That's not really good enough from the rest of the players on the team.

The Heat's entire gameplan is to take Parker out. They end up playing a 3-2 zone because they double Parker with Bosh and Cole/Chalmers or put Lebron on him. They are able to get away with it because Bosh is one of if not the best perimeter defending bigs in the NBA. He is a popular guy to pile on but without him they don't make the Finals much less beat us. James is a once in a gneration talent. It also helps that the refs let Cole and Chalmers push pull and ride him. It's playoff basketball so be it.

If they are going to do that and hide Allen/Wade and Haslem/Anderson on Leonard and Duncan than you have to make them pay. You can rotate help to one but you cannot do it to both. With a guy like Green, Belli or Manu with his head on straight they can make rotations even more difficult. I have a feeling this year, should that happen, Leonard is going to have a field day. Post up Wade and just have your way with Allen.

Spolstra is outcoaching Pop once again, nothing to see here... Said the tosb should have retired...

The Spurs got weaker this season, it is what it is, I agree with the second round exit at best predictions.

Spoelstra is now 2-0 without LeBron vs Pop and the big 3, that's pure outcoaching... Pop is done but nobody wants to hear it...

I'm disappointed. I thought the Spurs would use this opportunity to hatchet murder Popovich at the scene of his greatest crime - like at midcourt. And of course, that they would let Tim finish him off with the last swing...because Pop doesn't allow him to finish. But hey...no such luck.

Well, I now have you pegged at least.

Spoelestra used the same sets he did last year. We didn't adjust at all while we trotted out that zone to tinker with.

What I want to know where that zone came from. Diaw and Baynes made a couple of adjustmenst so you could tell they've been coached in it.

Spurs press corps: I'm giving you a good story to write and even your sorry asses can figure out who to interview.

TP needs to take a break, he wont get there as whole if the spurs go deep in the POs again

Kawhi looked good, what limits him is his poor passing and decision making, but he's already showed promise in that area vs nuggets and heat, he just needs to play, play, play and go through the learning process

It's a little surprising to see Bonner being that down in the rotation while Spurs decided to pay $3M to keep him. $3M for a 6th big is a damn lot of money.
Maybe Pop/Spurs didn't expected to see Baynes and Ayres at that level, maybe the depth chart will change during the regular season or maybe Spurs want to use Bonner's expiring contract at the trade deadline, we'll see...

De Colo nightmare preseason continue with now a combined 7/25 from the field. He is better than that and he is in great shape after the Eurobasket so he shouldn't play poorly. Maybe it's mental and he has given up.

With De Colo sucking, Maggette and Young cut, Spurs are really thin at SG/SF. They are a Manu injury away to only have 3 decent SG/SF on their roster. Alternate solutions like Diaw at SF or playing with two PGs doesn't sound very promising. This lack of depth is a little worrying.

I think they know what to expect from bonner, so nth much to see him in the preseason.

You can say the same for a lot of other Spurs players and they are playing more than Bonner.

IMO this all makes sense. Bonner is the only trade asset Spurs might be able to turn into something without losing much. Bonner is the only expiring contract with some salary potential outside Diaw and Diaw is more improtant at this point. so, if the Spurs see a big enough probablility that they will trade Bonner, it does make much senso to already install a Bonner less rotation. or, at least, test it.

I actually shouldn't be surprised the Spurs were clowned from beyond the arc. Now that Manu, Belinelli and Mills are a part of the perimeter rotation, looks like they'll get clowned from deep a lot this season.

    Shots fired!!!

Jeff Ayres says Heat players were ‘trying to take out his knees’ during preseason game vs. Spurs

Ayres felt no love lost in Miami after switching to the Spurs.
“That’s what it felt like,” Ayres said. “People were trying to take out my knees and stuff. I was like, it’s preseason take a chill pill.”

Ayres played a total of 4 minutes and 46 seconds against the Heat in the playoffs. I'm sure it was nothing personal against Ayres. I don't think most players on Miami even know who he is and they probably don't care.

This guy sounds like a drama queen -- changing his name after he's traded for some family reason, claiming that he's significant enough that someone would try to injure him.

An odd fit for the Spurs perhaps?

Hopefully, he'll just shut up and play well.

Cut his scrubby ass, I say! No room on the Spurs' roster for this time of hatred!

I really disliked what I saw of Patty Mills this game ... that was chucking up shots at its worst. Despite his new fitness I think he should be the towel waver, CoJo is our back-up and Nando can fill in at times (he will not shoot this bad all season I suppose).

LOL @ this thread. It's just preseason. Even D-Wade's performance I'm not gonna get too high on. He looked solid back as the #1 option but he was mostly having his way against Spurs backups. Tbd if he's actually healthy and back. And Pendergraph is a punk but perhaps just the guy y'all need whether you face us or a team like Indy (w/David West &Scola) or the Nets (w/KG, Evans and Blatche). He's the opposite of Splitter.

He changed his name to Ayers now. I think because his other name was too hard for the Heat to say/spell.
As for Wade, what happens when he fails his peds test?
