Pop appears to be looking for a fit for Ayers. He played him with Diaw and the second unit and with Duncan and the first team. He fared much better in the latter. He is a worse rebounder and rim defender than Diaw otoh he played some pretty decent perimeter defense on an iso when he was with Duncan.
Ayers effort is excellent but I get the impression that he knows this is an audition and is pressing. Baynes has gotten the last two games and played well. We're going to see different lineups but I am going to hate the turd towers lineups with a passion. We'll win a ton of games anyway but I hope we don't see it too much.
