Because they're series-changing, backbreaking shots. I'm not going to tell you one ranks above the other or anything like that, all I'm saying is once we've been through .4, you don't take anything for granted anymore. During that Game 6, I never once felt it was a done deal, started celebrating, etc. You just grow some sort of pessimism, tbh. Obviously, I can only speak for myself, but that's just how it went for me.
It's a shame, but deep down Manu is responsible for all that cynicism. Didn't close out on Fisher fast enough, stupid foul on Dirk, and the incomparably horrible Finals performance.

Not to be a , but how does 0.4 or the Manu foul get you prepared for a loss like that? Those 2 aforementioned years it is largely assumed the Spurs would go on to win the LOBT, but there's really no way of knowing. This time the sidelines were cordoned off, the trophy was making it's way to the floor, and the Stanford band was out on the court. Just brutal.
imho, it doesn't really prepare you. it's just a further raping of the ass, this one though is about as painful and bloody as possible.

as for your Pop and Vogel comparison, I don't know man, I realize Manu the bed because he's either gassed or helping out his Cuban brothers, but pulling Duncan still makes no sense. The only way I can justify it is that Pop is always watching minutes, which is a great thing, but it can turn into micro managing real fast and that's what happened there. Perhaps he thought Duncan wasn't effective enough to make that stop, but it's a decision that will be analyzed for a long time. He's still defending it, but hopefully privately he's apologized to the team. I don't think he was trying to lose, but basically a Schottenheimer moment. All I can hope for is that we get another shot or two, learn from the mistakes.

I do give SA credit though for not having mass riots or craziness. Can you imagine how the bean3rs in LA would react to a loss that brutal?

That's BS partner. You actually had a championship won in 6. A championship was on the line.

In .4 it isn't a foregone conclusion that yall would've rang partner. Gods sakes, you were two series away from a finals appearance if anything.

Nah, good shot by Fish and good shot by Allen. Just like Manu made many other good shots that eliminated other teams and put us through series.

I still don't get how Manu went from his 2012 postseason self to last years 2013 postseason abomination. I mean did he catch aids or something?

You're a bit nonchalant about game 6 as if it is on a equal plane as .4.

Admit it, game 6 is the worse you've ever experienced as a Spurs fan.

I'm the first to admit he had a poor season last year, but I'm not throwing him under the bus like Lakerfan did to Fish in his final days, tbh...

Didn't throw Duncan under the bus after that awful series against Memphis, same rule applies here...

I dunno about Spurs fans in here, but anytime you sweep the Lakers in the playoffs, you know it's been a great season. Agree with NoNo that Fisher's .4 and Manu's BS foul somewhat prepared us for Allen's dagger.

Sweeps happen every postseason, multiple times too. you guys got swept by the ing Phoenix Suns not that long ago. Game 6 is forever, though. Also, You didn't beat Kobe.

i know you visit upstairs, CoM is like some Heaven's Gate . it's just a difference in how Americans see things vs South of the border. It's like the crowd was chanting Manu's name in game 5, no other player got that, then he proceeds to have several Bill Buckner moments in the following games.

Like I said, I'm just hoping for some redemption for the team.

Nothing is more gratifying than seeing the Lakers get swept and more so if it's done by the Spurs, tbh.

I'm not 'equating' them because I'm not raking them. If I had to rank them, that Allen shot was probably worse, all I'm saying that after .4, it wasn't wholly unexpected (at least for me).

Personally, worse I experienced in the Duncan era was probably 8. After that series, you seriously had to wonder if we needed to blow it up and start again, with what that meant for a small market team.

But wouldn't it have felt better to defeat Kobe? Something ya'll haven't done since 2003--when life was beautiful and your wife wasn't pushing daisies.

The CoM is nuts, reminds me of all the Chargerfans who blindly defended Norv Turner over the years when any non-re ed person could see he was hurting the team, tbh.... it's hilarious how easily most of them get trolled by TGY as well...

I also should add I've gotten older, and you get some more perspective. I've seen this team win 4 ships, and all that means for a small market franchise like us... I don't feel this team 'owes us' anything, like some gnsf upstairs...

The injury excuse, the Spurs would've beaten the Lakers 9/10 times last year even if you put a 25-year old Kobe there. My wife's in a happy place right now, perhaps banging Jerry Buss

Jerry only bangs hot coeds. If there's a heaven, I'm sure he hasn't lowered his standards I agree the Spurs beat the Lakers last year regardless (not a sweep though, obviously), but there's gotta be a sense of unfilled-ness that your most hated player wasn't on the receiving end of it. He was too busy looking debonair and hitting on the Laker Girls tbh

I can read and the things you've posted in this thread don't mean until you qualify the losses. You like to salsa dance until big dogs like thunderup corner you up with a question. Which brings us to the next post:

Thanks for semi answering the question. 8 was a first round ordeal in which yall likely would've lost to us had yall been able to pull out of the first round. Yall were spent by the time the playoffs neared. If you thought the backdoor sweep was bad, we would've ran yall out of the gym. If yall somehow miraculously got passed us, them Mavs would've beat yall partner. And even then, the cHeat would've given you a prelude of what to expect the next year.

No matter how you spin it, 6 is the worst and you know it. You had it WON!

Didn't know Magic Johnson is a hot coed, tbh. It's hilarious that you think I hate Kobe I take solace in fact that the Spurs swept the LakersPeriod. Let us proceed Chieffy.

You're missing a lot of info there. It was a first round debacle, but the big, big problem then was Duncan looked like , and IIRC, he either was on the last year of his contract or only had one year left. We still didn't have a kid like Leonard around.

Luckily he decided to continue and had a renaissance couple seasons afterwards, but after that series, everything had a huge question mark as far as where to go from there.

No matter how you spin it, 6 is the worst and you know it. You had it WON!
You don't get it because you never won a championship, much less four, and probably never will get it with a beta like Durant.

He still lost in the end. But yeah, as far as banging hot coeds and my dead wife's corpse, he is the GOAT.
