3-17 record for the Fakers at the quarter. Book it. Pau, a 1st rounder, and AARP member Steve Nash traded soon after to Dallas for Dirk Nowitzki and Jose Calderon. D'Antoni gets fired after a 1-4 start.
Kobe Bryant to miss Lakers' opener
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Kobe Bryant's return date from Achilles surgery is still up in the air, but it will not be the Los Angeles Lakers' regular-season opener Tuesday against the Los Angeles Clippers, according to coach Mike D'Antoni.
"No," D'Antoni said after the Lakers' 111-106 preseason win over the Utah Jazz on Friday to finish out their exhibition schedule 4-4. "My God, I know he's Superman, but my God. He hasn't run yet."

^ Send this back where he belongs.
lol this dumbass can't handle the truth
You really think Cuban's going to trade Dirk to the Lakers? Let's be realistic now![]()
Sounds good to me. Come back and make your team average and hurt det rebuild sonnnn LOL
I present to you:
The Tanking
Use it carefully...
they're so much better w/o him they got swept
They moved up to 7th without him .
Heard that Kirby should be sitting on the bench, suited up during the game.
God I hope this game comes down to like 2-3 points so Kirby could force his way into the game. It would be comedy gold, tbh.
and got swept, probably better they miss the playoffs
hasn't even run yet in practice
He ran in China, and took part in warm-ups and took shots, I'm not sure how far he is in his rehab but it should be 3-4 weeks of cardio and getting in shape and then it's about the tendon holding up, they said that it's not a setback and that Kirby decided to run on the gravity mill himself, just being precautious and giving that tendon some rest. Kirby can't wait to come back and chuck 20 shots again. Gotta get that MJ points record, tbh.
But I'm sure Kirby's able to play like one possession, they just give the ball to him and he chucks it, tbh. He's just not ready to run up and down and explode off that leg, but it's been over 6 months now so he'll be 100% around January.
Cancer's legacy couldn't shake off another missed playoffs, tbh... not with Howard, Gasol and Nash... so he should be extremely grateful that they were able to save his ass...
The Lakeshow were getting swept with or without him, so that's a moot point...
