He picked us to win the le the last two years so it may be a good thing.
Still, lets not get caught up in what analysts say.
He initially picked his top 5 in the West and when he omitted the Spurs, Chris Berman asked him what about the Spurs and he said, at some point they have to face the fact that they're old and they blew their last best shot in the last Finals. Now I know better than to get butt hurt over the sports media hating on us but this is one guy who's always had respect for the Spurs so it surprises me he'd pick us 6th. He's all on the Clippers' nuts and said the Warriors are his #5 over us. Oh well, his fat ass.

Barkley has turned full blown troll on us.
Style of play and efficiency alone makes the Spurs a top two team if everybody is healthy. Barkley is a dumbass who makes conjecture out of his ass.
Barkley said the grizzlies were gonna beat us last year soo. Not everything he says is accurate
That's a first - he was our biggest hater last year
Barkley would be a great analyst if he didn't do his yearly routine of picking one team to blindly hate on every season, tbh.... looks like he's picked the Spurs this year....
Barkley is entertaining and fun to watch but he is not really an analyst.
With Chuck you have to wait. He'll be in the bandwagon by March...
True and by then perennial idiots like Stephen Asshole Smith will still be consistent in their Spurs hatred.
And blindly suck on...the Grizzlies last year?
Well we did blow our "last best shot" until our next best shot.
He probably lost a load of $$ and is pissed. I'd imagine he's lost quite a bit on them, over the years.
LOL 6th, almost winning a le against the Heat to 6th best in the West? Oh well I could care less what he says on that end of things.
In 2042, long after the Spurs relocate to Kansas City.
Booing Smith during a live broadcast against Detoilet in the Finals at the SBC Center was one of my proudest moments.... What a . "I GUARANTEE you the Spurs WILL NOT be NBA champs." Clown.
Chuck is waiting for one of timvp's epic optimism threads
I thought relocation was to St. Louis?
East St. Louis?![]()
True. Stephen Smith bugs me with his Spurs hate, and inversely his Kobe love. He was just rambling on about how post-injury Mamba will as great as ever, and goes on to point out Kobe's offense numbers from the last few seasons. He seems completely to not notice that Kobe has given up on the defensive side of the ball...
But back to the Spurs. Stephen Smith lives to bash us (particularly poor Tiago). But, we know what he's doing, he play's to popular perceptions to boost his ratings. So touting the Spurs does nothing for him. It's just more ESPN bias.
He split his blind fellating between the Grizzlies and Nuggets last year, tbh![]()
Charles Barkley is talking out of his ass. People have been calling the Spurs old for years. Last Year - Finals appearance, Previous Year - West Conf. Finals. How do you move a team from 1st in the conference to 6th when they actually improved over the summer when most of the other teams took a step back ?
My Picks:
1. Spurs (Just stay healthy)
2. Clippers (Pretty record, coach is the difference in at least 8 to 10 games). Still undisciplined.
3. Memphis (Clippers edge them out here but fold like a lawn chair against them in the playoffs. Can't change low IQ over night.)
4. Houston (Still one of the stupidest teams in the league. Athletic and stupid.)
5. Oklahoma City (They didn't get better and will be w/o Westbrook for maybe a month? C'MON MAN ! NO betterh than 5th)
6. Golden State - Lost too many intangible pieces. Lost their iden y over the offseason. Last season meant nothing.
7.New Orleans - Biggest improvement here.
8. Denver - In by default. Better than Mavs.
So a team that came within one rebound of winning the championship and brought back all of its primary players is supposed to get significantly worse after four months?
What a ing joke of a got.
No one really cares anymore what the media says or thinks. We know what the Spurs are capable of doing and those who have been following the spurs for more than a decade know well enough not to listen to opinions or favorites.
If anything, health is the biggest concern and if the players can stay healthy, they can hang with anyone in the NBA on both ends of the floors.
