Tell that to the poster who told me to stop watching basketball. Yeah, PG24 IS a food lebron defender, but not as good as Kawhi. Lebron didn't struggle with the Pacers as much as he did with the Spurs. Sure, gameplan had much to do with it but if the player isn't THAT competent enough to enforce it, then it ends up useless.
That video did a good job of getting me excited about the season.
There's only a handful of people who can guard Lebron and keep him somewhat at bay, PG24 is not one of them, I'm sorry. He did great in that series when he could but defending Lebron was not one of his skills. Kawhi did a monster job on Lebron until Game 7 and when he decided to guard him by keeping a distance as big as a football field from him.
First 5 minutes are brutal.
Think of it as free therapy.
They seem to omit a lot of changes because if they added those changes, it could change what they are trying to portray the Spurs as.
It's like they're lying and the know it, but they don't want the CASUAL Fan to realize it.
Typical of the 4Letter. What else is new?
I like Bill Simmons, But every time he talks about the Spurs, I just get these heavy undertones of jealousy, hatred, and coveting from his tone of voice. Like he is trying so hard to be unbiased yet can't help but still hate the Spurs deep down inside.
I'm not sold the Bulls are above the Spurs. The Spurs would defeat them in a series easily had they played last year or if they played right now imo. We need to wait and see how Rose recovers from his knee to see if he can get back to MVP form by the end of the season. IF he can, then the Bulls can compete with the Spurs. But tbh, even a fully healthy Bulls team with Rose has seemed a bit worse than the Spurs in both 2011 and 2012. And I'm saying this as a fan of both teams. The Bulls have a very limited offensive playbook.
The Heat you have to rank above us simply because they won, but I'm not ready to put anyone over us until I've seen the season pan out some. I think the teams to watch would be the Clippers, Rockets, and Pacers. The Grizzlies. . .honestly I've kinda lost faith in them after last season. They ambushed us right after Manu broke his elbow in 2011, and outside of that playoff series, we have manhandled the Grizzlies EVERY YEAR. Our track record against them is absolutely sparkling outside of 2011 playoffs. I don't see the Thunder recovering either. They're going to slip down some now.
Lakers and Mavs are both done imo. Celtics too. The Celts may make the playoffs because that conference sucks, but they aren't going anywhere. The Nets and Knicks don't strike any fear in my heart either. They're mostly just hype and name.
Anyway, it should be a fun season. It's not as predictable as the last couple have been.
I don't get that feeling at all. I've read or watched most of his work and there's a deep respect and admiration for the Spurs. Sure he's jealous that the Celts didn't get TD, but compare what he says about the Lakers/Kobe and there's no comparison.
