Samsung said to sign three-year, $100 million deal with NBA

The NBA and Samsung have signed a major deal that will see the electronics company gain serious visibility at games, according to a new report.
The NBA and Samsung's deal is valued at $100 million over three years, The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, citing people who claim to have knowledge of the agreement. Under the terms of the deal, Samsung will provide to the NBA both televisions and tablets for use courtside when the NBA starts its new season on Tuesday. The televisions will act as the monitors referees use to review close calls, according to the Journal.
CNET has contacted Samsung and the NBA for more information and will update this report when we learn more.
Samsung's deal with the NBA goes beyond just providing devices. The NBA will customize its video, the Journal said, to optimize it for Samsung's many devices, including televisions

I remember a time when a tech friend of mine said way back in 2006 that Samsung has a very bright future ahead especially in TVs. little did he know that they would leapfrog Apple.

El, even with the increased revenue, Samsung makes far less profits than Apple. It's understandable when they sell $50 iphones for $500. That$s like 1000% on their's investment. I heard they're seeing a drop off in mac and ipod sales.
apart from the sales, Iphone users will have to PAY to download those s from their official website. You make try jailbreak but the risk is your phone being turned into a brick, but some users would still jailbreak their phones despite the risk because the subsequent fees of downloading and collectively would even exceed the value of the phone itself. It's like you can buy a used car (like my Jacob) cuz its relatively cheap, but it'll probably end up costing more in maintenance & gas than what you paid to buy the car in the first place.
