You couldn't possibly back that up. What have you seen from the preseason that justifies that Cojo should be backup over Patty?
Been a long summer, tbh. Good to be back and excited for another year of Spurs ball. Not sure which of the regulars are still around or if timvp came close to death again but looking forward to hearing the takes from all the greys. From the lurking i've done this morning, looks like there's plenty of candidates for most re ed new poster so I'm sure i won't be disappointed.
Some thoughts heading into the new season:
-Manu's contract is fine considering his status as a fan favorite in San Antonio. Who doesn't love when Manu is throwin' souvenir balls to all the fans in the stands tbh. If Kirby can get 30mil to put a bunch of stubby mexicans in the seats then Manu can certainly get 7mil.
-It's going to be 2014 soon and Matty is still on the roster. I've hated a lot on Bonner in the past but he's getting nothing but love from me this season. Anybody who could survive this long that isn't part of the Big 3 or Pop deserves major props tbh.
-Dat Dude Beli is a huge upgrade over Neal.
-CoJo should be the backup PG. I'm hoping Nando gets moved and Patty is relegated to towel waver again. I like CoJo's size and defensive potential with the 2nd unit.
-Backup SF isn't an issue. Manu/Diaw + Dleague callups is more than fine for the season. I do, however, want the Spurs to add one more wing defender by the trade deadline. Kawhi will be a Top 5 SF by season's end IMO.
Overall, I think the Spurs have a good chance of making the Finals again this upcoming year. Nobody out West really scares me. If I had to pick one team that poses the biggest threat, it'd be the Thunderrefs and their mouthbreather fans tbh. Regardless, I think a healthy Spurs team wins the West again.

I think top 5 is realistic for Kawhi. His compe ion for the 5th spot are Gallinari and Pierce imo.
Patty def outplayed CoJo in the preseason but I liked what I saw out of CoJo in the playoffs last season and think the team's ceiling is higher with CoJo as the backup PG tbh. I liked how Patty was used last season as a sparkplug by Pop. I'm fine with Pop tinkering back and forth for a while but by season's end, i want CoJo there.
If it makes you feel better, I want Baynes to get a good chunk of minutes this season.
I'm not particularly a Baynes fan.
I'd rather have Patty as the backup because I feel that he fits better with Manu and Bellineli.

This place is overrun by horrible new greys(robdiaz, Skull1, TheGreatYacht, Baam, Raven)...and of course you have the same old take express(Kidd K, TD21, HoopCzar) still bringing the bads per par. The collective IQ has dropped so much that it's almost more annoying than funny. Hopefully things start to balance out as we move into the season.
