He's the most down to earth guy you'll see in the NBA. In Toronto he didn't have a car, he took buses and the subway to go to the Air Canada Center and the practise facility.

People like to rag on him, but I'm glad there's a player like this out there in the pro world. Good for him for not feeling like he needs to go out and blow his money so he can impress people. I wish there were more like him.
With that being said, I remember hearing a story last season, or the season before, about a Detroit Lions player (I believe) who drove around an old Ford...an '86, I think. He said it ran just fine, so he didn't feel the need to buy something new. Does anyone know who I'm talking about? I've been trying to figure this out for a while now.
There's nothing wrong with buying/having nice things if it's something you're interested in and you spend wisely, but i can really respect a guy who doesnt care about those things and money doesnt change anything about them.

My Dr.'s office is about 50 yards from the practice facility, and the week before last I had a great opportunity to plow into Tony in his black Escalade (black license plate with just "9" ) while he was waiting for me to pass by so he could pull out.
But I would never, ever do such a terrible thing.
