Apparently he now thinks you are actually one of us using some sort of bogus troll account.
It is a symptom of his paranoia now.
To capsulize things. IMHO he first got upset that I quit replying to his critiques of my posts because of his hostile at ude.
Then I realized that his posts exhibited pseudo intellectualism because his critiques lacked substance and showed a lack of comprehension of the subject matter. Apparently a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.
All of this has frustrated him to no end. Now he is seeing ghosts everywhere he looks.
It isn't even funny, it is sad. So I dare not laugh, that might send him raving completely over the edge.
I keep trying to get him to chill out and put some laughter in his life, but this just makes it worse.

Don't worry, in between fuzzys, apparent insanities, the discussion will continue. There is merit in it. It does not matter what your leanings are, the Truth is still there. We all come from different and various points of the spectrum, and all have some truth to share. To give you an idea, I have a degree in physics with a minor in philosophy, and I am retired these days, but I am also a musician, and I suppose you could also add that I am a seeker on the path to truth, but no more so than any of us are.
Glad to have you aboard and hope to share some of your insights and opinions.

No mate, I am from Christchurch but have visited some of those areas where they filmed like Wellington, Mt. Victoria and South Lakes and there are some heavenly places but I visited as a young lad. I need to go there again soon.

Newtonian mechanics works extraordinarily well and is learned by every engineering student. But Einsteins modeling of gravity is more precise.Yes, very astute of you. From William of Ockham. To wit, when you have two competing theories that make exactly the same predictions, the simpler one is the better.
But Ernst Mach had his own version. "Scientists must use the simplest means of arriving at their results and exclude everything not perceived by the senses."
The problem with that is with the "senses". If they are clouded by agendas or biased in any way whatsoever then the theory will contain limitations.
That is why the use of strictly logic and reason can in many cases block the discovery of Truth.
As for God? I have barely an inkling of the concept. I prefer to concentrate on Truth. That concept is hard enough. And I suspect once Truth is understood, then the concept of God will be much clearer. And before we can understand Truth, it may be necessary to understand the concept of "knowledge".

The esoteric teaching about knowledge and being refers to the fact that knowledge cannot be understood unless there is a corresponding development of being.
A man may know a great deal and understand nothing because his being is not equal to his knowledge.
As a consequence, no inner union can take place between his being and his knowledge . . . The man of poor being and great knowledge can only give out meaningless material that leads nowhere.
And not only this, but he can only complicate everything and make it unintelligible.
A new model for "mystical" probably is called for as you say, I just have not heard of one yet that fits our modern day sensibilities. Possibly "seeker on the path to Truth" is the best I can come up with. In any case, such a one generally isn't concerned so much with labels or models as they are with "change", since everything is in a constant state of change.
The true "seeker" never evangelizes, never tries to convince people they ought to achieve a higher state of being, never argues with a seed that it should become a plant. Rather, he simply makes available the knowledge that a seed can become a plant --- if it learns how to die to being a seed.
And there are many pitfalls as well as falsities, and also those who would pose as seekers of the Truth who really are not, thus leading many astray. But most of all there are the detractors and the ridiculers who can stifle ones growth toward Truth. So you first have to ask, what in a seed would keep it a seed?
- The assumption that it's present state of being is final and complete,
- Fear of what it means to die as a seed,
- The presumption that it is already a plant (there are many seeds, pretending to be plants),
- Su ion of the idea that seeds can become plants,
- Complete satisfaction with its present state as a seed,
- Laziness, lethargy, obsession with seed pleasures.
Any and all of this can impede ones progress.
I have no idea what you mean by development of being. I have no idea what a higher state of being means. Ockhams razor is used to get rid of totally frivolous explanations, especially if they invoke the supernatural as in my example.
I was was trained as science guy and I realize the limitations that an ape like creature that evolved for life on grassy plains littered with trees and our exquisite efforts to invent symbolic language are lacking. We can't directly sense radio waves or make physical models for many phenomena that math explains much better. Tough luck for us, I don't believe we were predetermined to exist to understand the natural world. I'm fine with that.
Thus this thread will not lead me to just start making stuff up. I'm not going to pounce upon some grand unified theory of consciousness and being just to make myself comfy. Or pretend like I know what states of being are. If you are referring to recognition of self among individuals, ability to empathize, question how a bundle of neurons calls itself me, the evolution of symbolic language, we can take those on separately. But I don't know what a poor state of being is. We cannot begin to communicate on this being stuff.
And I don't know all the history of various conflicts on this board. I don't play games of praise unless I think I really learn something new. I just have not found it here. The interest I have is how wacked out various posters are. I had no idea there existed such a misunderstanding between various methods people choose to ask questions that interest them.
