What's really different about this set is each guy is scratching a single instrument in order to create their "band".
Excellent post. I am starting to get where some of you are coming from now.
I may have to change my opinion.

Why do you post paragraphs saying nothing? You can sum up your idiotic posts in less than 10 words, tbh
I've been told this before, it's a valid statement. How's that for being concise?![]()
How so?
Because you say so?
Who are you?
And that doesn't show your intelligence?
So now you are all knowing? You are ignorant to the genre thus you asking questions about it. You read it and now you know. You can go for the self righteous schtick all you like but you are ignorant to the genre that is an accurate and fair statement. The truth is still the truth no matter how repugnant.
You fail miserably by your hubris.
False. Yes, it's rhythm but there's no harmony there. DJ's really don't care about staying in key. Plus, the harmony isn't really played by the DJ but the people he's sampling.
That's pretty much nonsense. A trumpet and tympani are pitched instruments so they can make music. Just because it plays single notes doesn't make it not musical. Tympanis are normally played in a set of three so that like saying Middle C isn't musical on a full size grand piano. Idiotic, really. So, I guess you think that the only "music" that happens in a symphony are all the instruments outside of the string section???? Same thing for a regular band. Half the group is playing "music" and the rest are just wanking? Pfffff. Give me a break. A bass drum is percussive so that is the only thing that's right about your statement, so I'll give you that.
quite
This is just one of the reasons why I don't reply to his posts with any kind of seriousness.
In fact I pay very little attention to his agendas either.
Why waste time and effort?
I just humor him. He needs humor more than anything.![]()
By adjusting the speed at which something is played, you adjust the pitch. You dismiss that by saying that DJs do not care about pitch but that is completely unjustified. Have you ever tried to match beats? I have and I do care about tonality. Sure there is some hip hop is discordant but not all of it is. Your blanket dismissal as with most of your takes is weak.
You ignored the point I was making about scratching.
I never said that everything outside of strings was not music. I want you to read what I wrote again. Note that I used the conditional 'if.' Think about it and try to use basic reading skills. I am not going to respond to your contention about bands and symphonies as such. Of course those are musical instruments.
With a turntable you can take the key of the song and by adjusting the speed, take it through several octaves. The range of tone you can get out it is continuous. Saying 'DJs don't care' does not change those facts. You generalize that artists without cause. Quite frankly the blanket baseless dismissal is about as ty an argument as one can make.
A trumpet is a few octaves of single notes. A tympani is three tones. Two turntables and a microphone can make a hugely diverse amount of melodies. All of the are musical instruments.
Nice to see your still a butthurt, proud member of the fan club.
What agendas do I have?
I don't find you funny. I think you are a bag. Reading the posts on this page alone should show you that I am not the only one that feels that way. That does not hold true for everyone. I find many things funny. There is a time and a place for all things.
At least this time you didn't insult me and then say that is all I do. Now that is hilarious when you do that.
Ironic that you say that when I don't need to insult you simply because you do a perfectly fine job of doing that to yourself, better than I could ever do.
The irony is that you are oblivious of it.
Fine by me.![]()
Check out the Roots while you're at it - they use live instrumentation when performing live, tbh:
Thanks CN, I will.
Oh so this is like your pursuit of truth. A bunch of bull analogies and allusions that you cannot barely articulate.
Remember when resistanze said that you write a lot of words that say nothing? That is what people take your act as. It is very apt as evidenced by your attempt here.
I get that I come across as an adversarial jerk. I am fine with that. I infinitely prefer that to being seen as saying much and meaning nothing at all.
Yeah late 90s/early 2000s was pretty dope.
This knows what's good
So much on my mind that I can't recline
Blastin holes in the night til she bled sunshine
Breathe in, inhale vapors from bright stars that shine
Breathe out, weed smoke retrace the skyline
Heard the bass ride out like an ancient mating call
I can't take it y'all, I can feel the city breathin
Chest heavin, against the flesh of the evening
Sigh before we die like the last train leaving
Will Smith was a lyrical genius back in the 90's.
this still cracks me up
Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-air
In west Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys, they were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighbourhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
And said "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-air"
I whistled for a cab and when it came near the
License plate said "fresh" and had a dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought nah, forget it, yo homes to Bel-air!
I pulled up to a house about seven or eight
And I yelled to the cabby "Yo, homes smell you later!"
Looked at my kingdom I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-air
Lmao Eminem was dope back in the day. Used to clown on Willie bad. Shoot he used to clown on everyone.
1960s was the best.
