No one expected them mavs to beat OKC on road when the mavs had just played a game the night before, in which they demolished the lakers.
we're just tired, as you've seen. The game was pretty much evenly match in the first half but the game instantly went into OKC's hands returning from the halftime. It's just extremely hard for old teams to win both games of a back-2-back, especially when confronting a tough matchup like the OKC.

Nowitzki-in his 17th NBA season-is made out to be the 2nd, 3rd best player on a contending team. Unfortunately, Dallas just can't seem to find themselves a star FA.
Dirk, as good of a shooter as he still is, is one of the slowest players in the league. He flails around in slow motion all game. It's really not difficult to stay in front of Dirk without fouling him. There was no "bear hugging" going on. Dirk's 4 FT attempts were plenty generous given the fact he has no move to the basket whatsoever. His entire offense, at least tonight, was 3 pointers and fade away jumpers. KD and Russ shot 14 combined..hardly anything to write home about. ANyone who watched this game and genuinely has a problem with the officiating is truly re ed.

Dirk is one of the biggest flailers and pleaders in the league. He compensates his slowness and age with unusual flailing motions, facial grimaces, and dramatic pleading to any ref who will listen. Fact. I can see how mavs fans would buy into this act and actually conclude that dirk is being mugged as his act might lead one to believe

Dirk has never got a guard's pace imho. He might have lost some speed due to age but he's still one of the best scorers in the league without a doubt. You can stay in front of him but the German allah will make the shots anyway. I didn't watch the game to be quite honest and I don't have no problem with the officiating, but I don't think it's ever been an easy job to guard dirk, even the slow-legged one tbh. Dirk's jumpers have been his primary weapon since his rookie season and he has no reason to not play to his strength imho.

Tough to run fast when the defender (Ibaka/Collison) is holding, grabbing, mugging you all the time. Doing this OFF THE BALL is a foul, too... Just watch the game, my oh my!
Dirk is a NOTORIOUS whiner and pleader and has been for a very, very long time. There's not many games where you won't consistently see Dirk approaching referees with consistent open handed, face grimacing pleas for touch foul calls. THis is not news. He's done this for years. I think Dallas fans tend to assume that each of these pleas are legit and that Dirk is truly being "mauled" and "held" as much as his grimacing leads them to believe. We all know how great he is as a player, but there's no denying this, and I'm not suggesting its something unique to him. KD will do the same thing. I do not recall Ibaka or Collison partaking in any type of consistent holding or mauling of Dirk last night that went uncalled. Dirk's a pretty good damn salesman as well.
