well one's sense was supposedly a quality upgrade, and touchwiz is , but I too have grown tired of HTC's bull

This is hilarious. No way in is that true. There's a strong argument for a stock One > stock S4. If the camera in the One was as good in well-lit situations as the S4 it would be the better phone by a wide margin.
HTC = FAR superior build quality, FAR better stock launcher, better speakers, IPS screen.
GS4 has a better camera, and removable battery/sdcard, and marginally faster performance. That's about it.

So Ive been trying the Google Experience Launcher along with the latest Google Now update
It's interesting ......... certainly different
It's definitely smoother, as it uses less ressources
