Whatever you say, PlayManu(although I happen to agree with you. You're not really going out on a limb here)

Will he make 2nd team at least?
So? Nando will never be a fulltime starter for SA, so KL is already miles ahead.
PlayNando isn't a Nando fan. He's a Manu fan.
lol no sherlock, not while kd, lebron, paul george and harden is in the league, way to go out on a limb dumbass![]()
the fact that you think that's a bold prediction says a lot about kawhi, actually
Ok Nostradamus
So? Neiher Tony nor Manu was ever in first-team, but the Spurs won 3 champions with them.
I can see Kawhi being the best player on a le team — given that the team is constructed like the 2004 Pistons, with all around defensive effort and great chemistry and a group of at least 5 high caliber players and roleplayers filling out the roster.
Trolling, per par.
Who cares? Spurs are not about All Star games or stupid things like First Team Second whatever, San Antonio is not the place if you wanna be a big marketed player like Dwert
While we're making bold predictions...
Boris Diaw will never finish top 5 in MVP voting
You heard it here first!!
Nando will never make first team all D-League
You're falling into his trap. Badmouthing Nando does nothing to stir PlayNando's emotions. Like I said, PlayNando is die hard Manu fan and if you want to rile him up you should talk about how Manu single-handedly cost us game 6, for example or how he's a TOSB who will never sniff 45% (FG%) ever again because his shooting is atrocious.
I could see Kawhi passing Harden if he has a 20/10 season with amazing D at SG, But the odds of that happening aren't blazing.
Still, I feel like people are being too hard on Kawhi. When it's quite obvious the system is what causes Kawhi to struggle offensively. Kawhi is best when placed inside or open on the perimeter for a mid-range jumper, but Spurs' offense relies him to be outside the arch way too much. And despite the improved shooting mechanics, Kawhi just isn't a natural thee point specialist.. But he has shown flashes of brilliance off the dribble/inside the paint, which is really what he thrives off of.
Notice how he was last season, in the games where the big 3 were out? He was always near the paint, which increased his rebounding/shot efficiency. That's just the kind of player he is. Spurs are using him wrong, and as of now it's dumb to say he can't do this or he will do that. Reminds me of how OKC fans underestimated Harden, and how they thought Mrtin would be a solid replacement.
Kawhi's mid range game is pretty mediocre. His pull up mid range jumper is probably the most inefficient shot in the game. I'm not too keen about him having that as a "go to" move. I'd rather see him post up.
The main area where Kawhi is lacking right now is dribbling the ball and that pretty much eliminates any possibility of having an elite perimeter game.
That's why I'd rather see Kawhi post up more or spot up on the perimeter and have others create for him.
Really? Maybe we're watching 2 different Kawhi's, because his pull-jumper has been pretty efficient in the past. Last season he shot .47% from 10-23 feet, which was actually higher than Klay Thompson's. Granted Kawhi did average 1.9 less shots from that area, but still better than just "mediocre" IMO. Haha that's odd actually! I always felt his post game was a working progress, He seems to lose control of the ball whenever he posts up. Like it doesn't seem natural.
Again, he's better than most people give him credit for. Probably because Spurs fans expect a lot out of their players.
He is young and has a lot of room to improve! In a few years he'll be the number one guy on the team!
Kawhi is overrated. I have no idea how some people are getting the idea that anyone is underestimating him. Even his biggest detractors on this board think he is a good player with good potential who can be a championship piece. But we don't think he can be the best player on a championship team--or even a decent playoff team. We don't give him credit for other people's success. The Chicago game aside, Leonard's halfcourt game has been weak unless he gets a favorable matchup like Mike Miller.
As I said a year ago, people want to make young players out to be something they're not instead of just appreciating what they bring. Leonard is a high-end role-player in the same way that Chris Bosh is on the Heat. And that's okay. He was even a better third banana than Bosh was in the Finals. But don't be fooled into thinking he's more than that. He was literally the lowest priority for Miami during the majority of the series.
Get him in the post instead of trying to make him a perimeter iso player.
Well I just mean in general, a long 2 is the most inefficient shot on the court.
Shooting 47% from mid range is equivalent (exactly) to shooting 31.3% from 3 point range. Both will net you the same number of points. If he's going to take long 2s from mid range he might as well spot up from 3, let others create for him, and take a more efficient shot. I know he he's capable of breaking 31.3% from 3 point land to make it worth it.
But even in the post he's not that big and strong for a SF, he knows how to play in the post to exploit mismatches like in the GS series but I don't see a dominant post player at the 3, actually I see him get pushed around by the bigger SF that post him defensively... I think we're seeing his limitations and I'm not sold that he can break the wall and get to the next level... I love him but you're right he's kinda overrated because of how young and likable he is.
