He has a longhorn tattoo too, lol.

Johnny Manziel's Freshman Season:

Vince won two Rose Bowls too.
Must have been nice to have a top 5 defense behind you.
does manziel come with that o line? if so i choose manziel![]()
Vince took down a USC team that was considered the greatest of all-time. Reigning, undefeated champs that were also undefeated going into that Rose Bowl.
Johnny took down todays equivalent of USC in Alabama although on a smaller stage and is clearly better statistically. Better passer and we've only seen the freshman/sop re version.
I was a t-shirt UT fan and loved Vince but I'd probably give the slight edge to JFF tbh.
You're joking, right?
True but for a QB it's probably much better to be playing behind an offensive line with 3 1st round draft picks. Really where would Manziel be without that oline blocking for him.
You can talk about how ty Sherman was as a coach, but the man knew how to find and develop an offensive line. Seriously, about the only offensive line I've seen that tops the line the aggsy have is the Nebraska line from the early 80's with Dave Remmington and Dean Steinculer. Even that line didn't produce 3 highly rated 1st round draft picks.
I was watching MNF couple weeks ago, and watching the Viking QB scramble for a first down and take a vicious hit that separated his shoulder. After watching that hit, then I realized, this was going to be Manziel's future. He makes one of those improvised scrambles like Ponder did and he will be in a body bag.
I don't know if Manziel will have a better career than Vince since Vince killed his career with a bad at ude and he was uncoachable. If Manziel can keep his at ude in check and accept coaching, I have a feeling he will be better than Vince. Vince himself had more God given ability than any QB in the history of the game, but Vince killed Vince with his at ude.
vince won a championship against one of the most stacked teams of the decade
/thread
I like Manziel but he has to win a BCS and a national championship game before this is even a discussion.
As is being horribly intellectually dishonest.
Do we have to start them out as freshmen?
If so, I think Manziel is the no brainer.
Has he even peaked?
Manziel was better as a redshirt freshmen and probably as a redshirt sop re even though VY was really good his sop re season.
Johnny also had 109 more pass attempts and 46 more rushing attempts.
Not to mention, Texas was blowing everyone out that season, so Vince frequently was sitting in second halves and just handing the ball off to kill clock.
Statistically, Colt was a better overall QB than Vince, but everyone knows Vince >>> Colt.
Stats don't tell the whole story. Any re who watches knows by looking at Vince's performances on the biggest stages in his games against Ohio St, Michigan, and USC.
On the other end, it's kind of unfair to compare bowl wins right now since Johnny hasn't had at least 3 full years of playing. Not to mention that the 05 Texas team is among the top 5 individual college football teams of all time. I don't doubt that if given a good team, Johnny would win an MNC as well. However, as I said before, the difference maker to me is that I don't think that Johnny would have been able to have a performance like Vince had against a team like USC (that USC team >>>>>>>>>> any of these recent Alabama teams). Vince simply had more natural gifts and talent than Johnny.
Against a team with two Heisman trophey winners (at the time, at least).
but McCarron beat some ranked teams too

Take Manziel away from Evans, and put Evans with Vince. Does Vince still win? Of Course.
tough choice. I'd flip a coin tbh you're not really losing with either.
Its fake......... You're very late on this.
btw nice avatar benefactor, real cute tbh![]()
That USC team in 2005 didn't have much of a defense. They were lit up a few times that season and survived close wins against Notre Dame and Fresno State. The 2004 team was better especially defensively.
