Spursfan is especially fond of this frenchie scrub. I never understood what the hype is all about.

Since the Blazers gave him a fat check he thinks he's some star . I guess that's why Lamarcus Softie wants out of that team.

So, what is so special about this guy? Or is he just overrated as ?

    he is overrated

Hype was not totally unjustified, his potential is nice... a defense minded player who can shoot, drive, creates his own shoot while capable to be a decent passer is not that frequent tbh

he is injury prone, has recurrent back issue and can be a mental midget... he is still a solid rotation player but that's about it. He is still young and can turn it around tho

How old is he? I've been hearing this 'potential' song and dance with him since he was drafted, tbh...

Not overrated at all. At his best, he's an efficient 17-18 point scorer, who's explosive and has an above average three point shot. I'd love to have him play for the Spurs, tbh.

he's a career 44.9% shooter from the field who has never averaged more than 14.3 ppg... his FG% is inflated, the figures have been lower the past 3 years as he's tried to take on a larger role on offense. i think he's an elite role player, not a franchise building block. Blazers fans imagined 3 years ago that he would turn into what Paul George is now. it never happened

He's actually pretty good if you don't count on him to be "the guy." He's not that and never will be. But he's a good 3rd option.

Why was he called for an unsportsmanlike foul? Batum was clearly going for the ball!

I like Kawhi, I do think he's overrated by your average Spursfan... the thing with Kawhi though, is that he's only starting his 3rd season, so talking about reaching potential is still warranted.

Batum on the other hand is playing his 6th season as a NBA professional. He already got paid, and IMO he isn't going to be that much of a different player going forward.

Actually although Batum >>> Green and Manu. I don't think the trade would benefit the spurs. I guess Batum would backup Kawhi but if we let Manu go, we have no 2nd ball handler. Not that it is a terrible thing given Manu's 8 TOs in the Finals

still Batum is overrated and would most definitely not be happy backing up Kawhi. him

    Batum's statline against the Knicks:
    23 points on 8 of 12 shooting, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 block.

That's what he's capable of giving you on any given night.

He plays like Michael Jeffrey Lebron whenever they play the Spurs in Portland that's pretty much it.

    14 ppg, 46% FG%, 43% 3pt FG%, 6.5 Rbds, 5 assists (36 minutes per game).
I do not think he is overrated. I hope for him he will not get injured as he did last year (when he also had a good start).
