I don't know where the OP lives, but I saw this case, backwards and forwards (whatever information the police had or were releasing at the time) on tv and the internet for about 4 days when it first happened. Then when they ran out of new info to put out it just faded from rotation. It makes sense to me that now that there is a solid case and tangible evidence that it has a resurgence in the media; but I suppose to others who missed it the first time around it "screams" of media bias.
