I respect Kobe more than most spurs fans on this forum, though I still think he is the most overrated player of all time (definitely a top 12 player all time, but the talk of him being #2 is absolutely ridiculous). However, even though I respect his work and admit he's fun to watch, how can this guy justify not taking a severe pay cut?

There has to be some under the table going on. I wouldn't pay more than 20 mil for two years. Anyhting more than$15 mill per is gonna hurt us. Hopefully they could get him down to 12.5 ($25 mill for two years) but he has done so much for the Lakers, I cant begrudge what he gets.
But as a Laker fan first, I hope he cuts us some slack salary cap wise ... but I doubt it.
