Nobody buys newspapers nowadays that's why.
I know some people don't like Buck Harvey. But, like Randy Galloway and the recently departed Frank Luksa (greatest sports writer of all time IMHO), Buck's columns have been a ritual read for as long as I can remember. Why make them subscriber-only? He is the only thing I bother reading in that sh---y newspaper so I won't subscribe just for that. Still, they don't make enough on subscriptions and ads to let people read it for free? Isn't this a bad move on their part? I can't imagine they are replacing the previous revenue stream dollar for dollar....
Nobody buys newspapers nowadays that's why.
I get that but lots of papers are still free once you ignore the annoying ads.
Buck Harvey. He is the King of the annoying "..." type of endings to his columns. I don't need anyone to make me drift off in to some sort of reflection all the time. He also plays heel and writes negative ninny articles that I tired of years ago. That rag hasn't been worth buying since Johnny Ludden left.
Well, I have read him for over a decade. It is annoying that I no longer can. Call it tradition.
Just noticing? It's been that way since the playoffs last year. You must not have missed reading it all that much.
There is a difference between just COMMENTING and just NOTICING, genius.
E-N Spurs articles are still mostly available for free. You just had to reach them trough links posted on Writer"s twitter pages.
For example:
Bruno with the goods. Nice. Will try it.
nailed it.
That's hardly news....
Pretty sure it's Manu's fault.
Still quite obviously NOT that important to you if you wait 7 months to even say anything. In fact, it's probably LESS important to you if you notice and don't say anything than if you just didn't go there to see that it was behind a paywall now.
Per par for OP.
Not that important. On the scale of importance...not high on my list. Eating is important. Sports...not so much.
Took a stab at reading his columns today just to see if anything changed since I gave up. It hasn't. I commented on that fact. And you're still a s'thead. Allow me to comment on that as well, even though that has gone on a lot longer than seven months.
Now get outta' my thread. You contribute nothing, per par.
Pretty much. He sucks.
Manu should pay the subscriptions to all Spurs fans, with the 7 M he is stealing from OP's pockets.
He stole a percentage any way...
No longer. I won't buy any Spurs stuff....or tickets...until he either gets his e together or retires in shame.
The wrong San Antonio paper survived.
What was the other? I already forgot.
Manu turned the ball over too many times so they had to make the newspaper pay-to-read, tbh.
San Antonio Light
The Light went out of business in 1993. Buck was there originally.
