Its safe to say Kawhi has been vastly overrated and is nowhere near the player some made him out to be, myself included. Role player at best. Tbh.

Verde going 1-5 from 3 didn't help either... he gotta make 3s at home
His bad shooting nights highly correlate with Spurs losses.

Houston's stellar 3-point shooting in the first half, Pop's excessive "Hack-A-Howard" play, and Tony's hero ball playing are what killed us.
Tony shot 50% from the field, played over 30 minutes, had 8 assists and 6 rebounds and only 2 turnovers. YOU are a FOOL!!!!!

I think it is very sad that people on this board beat up their own players so badly after they have obviously played their hearts out. When Manu is successful he is the greatest of all time, when he gets a turnover he is killed by the same posters. When Tony puts the team on his back and brings them back from a serious deficit he is hero-balling and when he doesn't shoot it he is responsible for someone else missing because he SHOULD have shot it.

Some of you guys are seriously sorry excuses for fans.
One of the reasons I don't come here as often as I used to.

Anyway, biggest take away from this game is that Duncan is back. That's so much more important than a virtually meaningless win in November.

Spurs came back from 20, took the lead and almost won a game they had no business winning anyway. Good sign imo.

Gotta get the rust from playing ty sub par team somehow.
The only sign is that Manu will cost us more games. Pop trusts him, he`s no longer got it.

I wasnt a fan of Pop going with Manu and Belli and leaving Green and Kawhi on the bench. We needed at least 1 perimeter defender. I wouldve gone with Green and Belli to end the game...

    How can yall be upset?

I thought Timmy was retiring tomorrow and he's not. His shot is back. I'm ing ecstatic.

What we need to talk about is Parker's iffyness as a franchise player. He racked off ten points in a row to keep us in the game, but later, his missing gimmes and being selfish late kinda hurt us.

DMC is spot on... the hack a howard actually killed our momentum. we were getting plenty of stops and we were scoring at will in the frantic pace of the game

Spurs lost for a number of reasons, none of them include most of the reasons that have been named, tbh..

    - Rockets were scorching hot in the 1st half, partly due to horrible Spurs' rotations/decisions, and partly due to Houston making shots..it put the Spurs in a huge deficit..

    - Spurs were out of gas by the end of the game, they erased a 20+ point deficit..do you guys realize how much energy it takes to erase a 20-point deficit in this league, let alone against a good team?..

    - Spurs' offense looked terrible with Leonard and Green on the floor in the 4th, neither guy was able to stretch the floor and make a shot, they both had great looks with poor results..

    - Harden took over down the stretch..he got his calls and he made his shots, he showed why he's the best player in the league at his position..

    - Pop's match-up decision allowed Parsons to dominate much shorter defenders like Green, Beli, etc, instead of going against Leonard..he was the best player in this game until Harden took over..

It wasn't lost due to a play or 2 by Manu/Parker and Howard making a few FTs..

Entertaining game, means nothing in the long run, tbh..

It's our offense that killed us. We couldn't put the ball in the hole no matter who was shooting it towards the end.

Most of the Spurs fans here suck. They don't even know how spoiled they are.

Well, good news is that Duncan played well for most of the game. Beli was also great in the 4th quarter.

Manu is sporadic with the ball no doubt he will cost us some games but I still would rather have him in a pinch over some of the NBA players out there.

Manu is no longer the player who can create his own shot.

Kawhi being benched for Matty tbh
He was having a horrible game offensively and made some bad decisions so I dont mind him being benched but not for Bonner. Pop needed 1 of Green or Kawhi at the end and had both of them on the bench...
