That would be dumb for several reasons. Let me count them:

    1. Kobe has made MILLION$ for the Lakers. Still does. Why get rid of your cash cow?
    2. Why amnesty Kobe in the last year of his deal? They would pay him $30M to go play for...the Clippers just to piss off the Lakers' FO? Yeah that would sit well with Laker Nation.
    3. They already amnestied MWP.
    4. Nash may medically retire anyway.
    5. Nash's deal expires next year.

    You should stick farming son.
Amnestying Nash would have saved them this extra year if he doesn't "medically retire" No way kobe would have made it passed the bidding process to wind up on the Clippers

See my 3rd response. And yes, I'm aware that Kobe wouldn't make his way across the hall, but the premise remains: Kobe will NEVER be amnestied. This is the same org that (rightfully) chose him over Shaq.

The Lakers would not have to if he is cleared to retire on medical reasons.

It's not some kind of slight it's "Hey Kobe you want to take the year off and rehab your injury while we pay you 38 million dollars"

Kobe has to prove he's worth another NBA contract. To do that, he has to play. I'm expecting the Lakers to slowly work him in to eventually playing 40-50 games. Lakers sell their tickets. Kobe passes MJ. Win-win for both.

Rudy T never coached Shaq. Even 35.4ppg from Kobe (highest avg since Air Jaundice in the mid '80s) could save them sorry hams.
I know but that didn't stop Daddy slinging cheap shots at Kobe during the season. It was understandable though, the transcript was out and Kobe ratted Shaq out and in the meantime, Shaq was having an MVP season.

Except the East was victorious in the Finals that year due to a certain cancer and his chucking, tbh
Weaker conference, still. Pistons were a great team.

The Lakers bench can't score 60 if Master Chucker has a good achilles.

Tanking is for es. The idea of professional athletes playing half-assed (or even intentionally losing) is ing mind-blowing.

I mean, it's one thing for management to say "Hey guys, it would really help us in the long run if we raise the probability of getting that #1 pick."

But it's entirely another thing for the players to go out on the court and intentionally play anything less than their best.

You classholes tanked (with a top 50 player still on your roster) for Duncan when he should have been a Celtic (not that I'm complaining). So, STFU and GTFO my thread son.

Yes. Although it's merely a dream, I would rather Jabari. I think he is a complete player and can do more than Wiggins can tbh.
