Nice! I first had it in '12 last holiday season and this was one given to me a while back so it may be of last batch.
Had Stone's Enjoy By recently.
Really, really solid IPA.

scott, I think Hopothesis 2X IPA may be the hoppiest beer I have ever had.
Thanks! 70 lbs of freshly picked Citra Hops went into that one... that helps for some awesome hop character!
The Abyss is landing Tuesday or Wednesday at only one place here in DFW. I'll let y'all know where once I get my two![]()
I like Sam Adams version. How would you compare the two?
I've actually found an IPA I like...Saint Arnold Elissa IPA. Been my go to beer lately.
I myself have an '11 as well, one of my friends just drank one and I asked him if I should open mine.. he simply said, "I'd give it another year"
Really? I had this at one of the bottle shares at the draught house and I thought it was great, but hoppiest? ehh idk. Still an awesome brew..
It was pretty hoppy imo, i may be more sensitive to citra than you. Couple of my friends have grown to dislike simcoe but i love that piney .
I love me some citra, but yeah.. big fan of IPA's.
Do you frequent any bottle shares in Austin? I'm still here and trying not to leave, heh.. been to a few.
Total Wine off 75 in Plano. Only a case left![]()
Had the Tongue Tickles by Noble Ale Works--if you can get a hold of any of Noble's works out there in San Antone, I recommend you do. They have a real hearty line-up.
Bass ale.
Fosters oil can.
Anyone score BCBS? It's delicious.
Tried Karbach Belgian IPA "Roshambo"
It was okay.
Have a beer guy here in Denton that texts me whatever he gets in and I was able to secure a single bottle.
I love Total Wine, though. That place is incredible.
We're getting a lot of awesome brews this month... Bomb! should hit very soon.
Is Odell coming this month?
Nope, they come in March 2014.
Back in the saddle and hitting Firestone Walkers offerings pretty hard. The Velvet Merlin is in season now, and quite good. I've been sniffing around for the Velvet Merkin too, but no dice thus far. Another good fave of mine is Left Hand breweries Milk Stout off of a Nitro tap.....boy oh boy is that some smooth stuff.
Picked up a Prairie BOMB today.
Waiting for an occasion.
I had more than a few pints of Velvet Merkin at Draught House anniversary before it ran out![]()
Cracked open a Supplication (Russian River) last night with the better half and perhaps we had it a chilled a bit too long. It was great but didn't have that sharpness that you're used to with a Wild Ale--I still love it though and it got me through the catching up of her shows that were DVR'd...
You been up to Russian River? I was there for a Pliny the Younger release a few years ago, some amazing beer there. Great food too.
I have not. I am planning to this year sometime, but that all depends on work and other factors. I've been fortunate to have met some of the employees and possibly Vinnie and his wife Natalie (I was a little buzzed when I supposedly met them...) at a craft beer fest down here in SoCal, so I'm not sure. They are one of my favorite breweries along with Alpine and Allegash so yeah, I want to trek to Mecca so to speak. I love the Younger but also enjoy the Supplication and Blind Pig...Elder is must-have, too. I want to take a trip back to Noble Ale Works sometime this month. Will report back if I do...
I think we're supposed to get it this month... I guess we'll see.
Abyss hitting shelves in Houston and Austin. I think Austin gets Bomb tomorrow.
