His doctors cleared him to play like last January and he didn't come back until a month ago. If that's not on him, who is it on? He ing quit on his team last year, tbh.

Rose getting hurt again isn't fault, anymore than him getting hurt the first time was. It's sad to see the career of what was looking like an exceptional talent get derailed so quickly.

What was Rose's fault, however, was buying into the hype. Begging to the media. The #comeback commercials. The NBATV specials. Then he goes and hams it up, waiting well after doctors cleared him when most true MVP-worthy talents would be nipping at the to get back on the court.

Rose took the Lebron approach with the media and let his "comeback" get built up into this huge spectacle, and now the whole world was watching when it blew up in his face. That's on him.

He can try to play it up all he wants, but at this point, I expect Rose to be the next Brandon Roy.

But why make fun of him? Im not even defending him I'm just curious? The guy loves the game, plays as hard as he can but his game doesnt match the stress his ligaments can handle. Im sure hes devestated over this, his long glorious career is over.

you act like you've played at nba level... you act like you're someone whose opinion means a damn thing... you have no idea what's what. you're just a spectator with a big mouth and that's where it ends with you.

I don't give two diarrhea s about Rose but I'm greatly disappointed that his injuries are serving to keep the Bulls too feeble to challenge Miami in the garbage Eastern conf.

i doubt he has a say about that tbh, he signed his sponsorship deals and basically ass raped adidas like none before, so that's the least he can do..

How are any of Rose's comments bad here?

He's just trying to talk fans in off the ledge and help the Bulls sell more tickets. They probably even told his ass to say he could come back this year so people don't just say it for the rest of the Bulls' season.

His doctors cleared him to play like last January and he didn't come back until a month ago. If that's not on him, who is it on? He ing quit on his team last year, tbh.
Team doctors did. The specialist he was seeing on his own said the chance of re-injuring himself before the season was over was fairly high.

He valued being healthy for the rest of his career and for the entire next season over breaking his back for a year they likely would've been knocked out exactly when they were without him anyway. It's pretty understandable. Of course he couldn't have forseen injuring his other knee too.

Yes it is...How did he get injured in the first place?(ACL)? He tries to be explosive all the damn time, and to his own detriment. He lacks the fundamentals of the game so he tries to make up for it by going 100%, he's burning himself out by taking all the contact he has been taking when racing to the rim. He puts himself at risk with those moves. He tore his ACL, what did he do? He took a whole season off after being cleared mid-season AND he didn't improve his game by adding a solid jumpshot to his arsenal, he came back trying to play the same damn way, and he was horrible + the meniscus tear probably came from putting too much pressure on his other leg/not fully trusting the left leg.

And could this have been avoided? Yes. He could have came back last season, and tried to play himself in shape when he was cleared 100%, he would have probably looked as medicore as he did this season, but at least he would have gotten back his confidence earlier, and maybe he would have gotten back to trusting that left leg again.

Point is, Derrick Rose puts himself at risk by playing the game a certain way, he isn't fundamentally sound, he'll continue to attain more injuries and will probably have a much shorter career.

Which is exactly why he should have come back last year when he was cleared, tbh..... you can't predict injuries, they just happen, so quitting on his team "in order to avoid injury" did nothing but waste everyone's time and make him look bad....

He's been a vet for 4-5 years. When do you expect him to learn how to have a game outside of his athleticism?

ugh... there's plenty of those types in and out of the league who not only fizzled out quick but also stayed for the long haul.

yall act like yall pay his contract. in a way i guess you can lay claim to doing so but really you don't. you can be mad because he sat out but it doesn't matter, you can be mad that adidas gave him a lucrative deal but they're the dumbasses for doing so and yall can act like he's been pulling a fast one on everyone but the truth of the matter is i'm sure this is eating him alive. the dude seems to live for bball and it's a shame yall have nothing but hate to spew towards him. i'm not saying yall should quit hating but i just don't get it. he doesn't dictate my life so i don't put stock into him, his shoe deals, his specials, his injuries, his everything.

He got injured despite the rest, which is exactly why he shouldn't have come back because he would've just gotten injured anyway and probably worse. He should have taken the rest, did, and it didn't work out. happens, but it still wasn't a bad decision.

What if Blake Griffin was rushed back the same year he got hurt then blew his knee out again? Resting for the season was clearly the right move. It usually is. Rushing back leads to re-injury too often for it to ever be a good idea unless a championship is imminently on the line.
