I was thinking the same thing. Not a Texans fan though I end up watching their games every week. Crazy to think what he could've accomplished with a better QB, though him and Texans had some decent years. But they should let him go to a contender.

Yeah. Top 20 all time in catches and yards. His numbers would be insane if he had a good QB for his career.

    Yeah.

I don't know how many times I've read on message boards, Facebook, etc, tonight all saying Andre should go to a real team. Myself included. I felt really, really bad for the guy tonight.

tim brown's stats are eye opening. 5th all time in receiving yards (14,934), 5th all time in receptions (1,094), tied for 7th all time in receiving touchdowns (100)... and he played most of his career with absolute garbage qb's except for a 4 year stretch with Rich Gannon

people hypothesized what their numbers would look like if Brown played his career with the likes of Montana and Young while Rice played with Marc Wilson, Jeff Hostetler, and Jef George

It's easy to pad your stats when you're the best player on offense. If AJ played with a HOF QB, chances are his stats wouldn't be as stout as they are now. A great QB picks defenses apart by throwing the ball around to all his receivers. AJ wouldn't see as many touches and he's not the type to pout.

Uhhh what? Dre has always had the ball underthrown and has had to come back to catch it. He is underutilized in the red zone. A HOF QB would have his numbers a lot better than they are, especially his TDs. You must not see all the times Andre is open and Schaub doesn't see him. And its not stat padding.

They should trade him to us. For all the accolades he has he's never had the opportunity to play for a competent franchise.

i'd be for the raiders giving cutler a 3 year deal. i have this sickness where i've liked Denver qb's for a while. Was a big fan when Cutler came out of college, was on the tebow wagon, and i had always been a Peyton Manning guy. i hate drafting qb's, since we are terrible at it, so i'd rather keep signing stopgaps while we actually assemble a roster

Based on the info below it looks like they would keep him through next season but unless he is willing to restructure his contract, they might release him the year after due to the cap number.

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-year-at-most/

Next year, Johnson has a $6.5 million signing bonus and a Week One roster bonus of $1 million, payable if he completes offseason workouts and all contractual obligations. There’s another $1.969 in cap charges based on bonuses paid out in the past.

It’s the same arrangement in 2015, but with the salary increasing to $10.5 million. It creates a cap number of $13.469 million, which means that it’ll be time for a new deal or a new address come 2015.
